  Very helpful owner who was friendly and welcoming. The inn has a lovely ambiance and situated in a fairly quiet part of the Lake District, but yet everything was is so amenable. Also, not forgetting some beautiful and challenging walks. Good menu with good food, (recommend the seafood platter). The only negative is that due to the good atmosphere in the restraint the noise did - Excellent location in peaceful spot but close to Elterwater. Beautiful view with plenty of great walks on the doorstep. we had the luxury room which had great views. Very friendly and helpful bar and hotel staff. Nice bar with good menu. Two real ales on from local breweries. Relaxing hotel for get away weekend.

  We liked everything. The room was small but cosy and the bed was made fresh each morning. We appreciated the small touches: the toileteries, the replenished hospitality basket, the flowers outside. The waitresses were so friendly especially Joanne and the Australian girl. The food was gorgeous. The evening meals were more than I usually pay but excellent value for money and the quality was super - Everything! The location is perfect for walking the hills and fells. The pub caters for everything so no need to go elsewhere. Food is excellent, staff friendly and efficient. Book if you require meal in restaurant, it gets very busy. Rooms comfy and clean, loads of hot water. Great real ales. Very busy with walkers. Three open fires. Fab.

  i only stayed one night but it could not have been better.the hotel setting is in such lovely surroundings. - Everything, it looked lovely on arrival, the staff were helpful, thepool etc were a bonus.

As we are both vegetarian we were delighted to discover that the restaurant had a separate and varied vegetarian menu and were able to accommodate us as a late booking. We had a lovely room (not large) but overlooking the river which was a bonus. Staff were very pleasant. Good breakfast with a lot of options but we didn't eat at the hotel for dinner as we considered it too expensive.

  Amazing! I didn't know what to expect from the hotel or the location. What a great surprise. The Lake District, the Village of Grasmere and the Waterside hotel were great!.   This is a very beautiful hotel, set in an idyllic spot with views of Grasmere Lake and the fells. Really one of the loveliest spots in England. We found it to be so lovely, peaceful and relaxing, a proper home from home. It has a beautiful dining room, and with lovely comfy lounges and views. We enjoyed the pitch-and-put no end. The hotel is only a couple of mins walk into the center of Grasmere, just perfect! And with lovely staff, we would definitely go again. Stephen & Jean
