We wanted to stay on historic Route 66 on our way to Grand Canyon. For the price it is exceptionally good. And what makes El Rancho Motel most special is the great 5 stars attention and advice from his owner! The room was extremely clean, and the owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful. It might be a bit away from the center of the town, but the town itself is so tiny that the walk to the center takes just 10 min. There was also a fridge, microwave and coffee maker with ground coffee p.
all reviews » The Motel is superbly located for Grand Canyon which is only 50 miles to the south rim. But better still is the town of Williams. It put a smile on our faces immediately. Cowboys and ranch town on the 66 was such great fun with great food, but not neveau quinine!! (Glad of that) Who wants it? The staff are so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to be supportive offering advice and guidance as well as genuine interest in making your stay relaxing but fun. Loved El Rancho. Two nights not. This place may not be up to par with the door key technology but that is okay. The room is very clean, smells very clean and I prefer it over the popular hotel chains around. The manager is very courteous and very helpful. Wi-fi is free and very fast! Room has free coffee, a microwave and a mini refrigerator. It has a very homey feeling. Best of all, they have DirecTV!. The hotel though simple was clean and comfortable. One of the least expensive in the area. Although older motel, it has been kept up and did not have that stink that so many older 50's style motels often have. The motel is located along route 66 and is within walking distance of the little town of Williams which has wonderful activities and restaurants. Location: not far from Grand Canyon (1 hour drive by car or by train) + on Route 66 Very friendly owner, who gave us extensive explanations and guidance on things to do and to see in the area. Motel doesn't offer breakfast, but there are restaurants nearby. Staff gives great suggestions!. Nothing to complain about. Window in the room didn't open. Owner argued about why I wanted it to open, and could not get it fixed. Mattress pretty hard but better than on too soft!. The bed was hard and seemed to have still had the plastic on it. Also the room was old...which to me is no big deal. The cost was kinda high, but again there are few choices in the area. Pool closed cost office/amenities closed until 8:00 am. Nothing. Swimming pool under construction. There was this weird smell. Like they tried to cover smoking with some deodorizer. Nothing. Nothing really. Rooms were creaky and our room smelled like animal urine. The room our family members stayed in had no smell. Shower head was placed low the shower stall; I am 5'9 inches and my fiancé is 6'. Nothing. Train station Behind the hotel. nothing. Nothing. Nothing. A/C unit could have been colder.. Rooms need updating and renovating.Got cheaper motel rooms in other areas with nicer rooms and amenities.Parking a bit cramped.Breakfast not included, other cheaper motels had it. Outdated and tired Paint peeling in bathroom Bathroom door would not close completely. Carpet was very dirty. No shampoo!. Bed was uncomfortable and the smell of the room was very musty. Needs redecorating. Bathroom door didn't close easily. The furniture was old and shabby, the bathroom very old, the arir conditioning did not work. definitely very over-priced. To expensive for a small room, a tiny bathroom with a cracked washing basin and a not so verry comfortable bed.
