The staff was efficient and gracious. We appreciated the amenities they provided. They were an integral part of the pleasure we experienced during our stay. The hotel is a reminder of the elegance of by gone days.The ambiance was unique and special. It didn't feel like a "I could be anywhere" hotel. Overall, it was a wonderful experience to stay at the Morrison Clark Inn.
The hotel is nice enough, but after reading the descriptions and reviews I expected something more. My room was quite big and very clean, but nothing that special about it. Maybe the Victorian rooms are more interesting. Garden, lobby and restaurant room are quite beautiful. Location is ok, can walk to major DC attractions, but it's not a short walk.all reviews »
It was an historic building with lots of little quirks that made it interesting. For an old building the renovation from two homes to a hotel were very well done. My room was comfortable and decorated nicely. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely stay here again.
I've loved this hotel for years -- clean, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. My only wish is that the windows would actually open -- I don't like having air conditioning as the only option. Otherwise, it's A+, and good value.

I like staying in historic hotels and places with a bit of character. The Morrison Clark has character in abundance, but also not at the expense of comfort, cleanliness, convenience and friendly and helpful staff.
Has that smaller quaint hotel feeling but with everything you need. Wine at 5pm daily, friendly staff, in walking distance of metro and some key restaurants.

Great location. I went for a conference in convention center and this hotel is in 5 mins walk, also close to many other sihgt-seeing places. Room is comfortable.

Surprisingly, one of the noisiest hotels I've ever stayed in. There is also a construction going on right next to it, which didn't help... and it will probably take a while to complete, by the looks of it. Staff is generally nice, except the lady who checked me in; based on our conversation, she remarked: "You don't travel much, do you?" Even if you think that, and even if it were true (which it really isn't, in my case), that's not something you say to a customer...
I arrived late and the doorman was not there which meant I had to haul my suitcase up aboutm10 stairs to,get into the hotel.

Door to bathroom did nor close all the way - needs to be refitted.
Television a little small.
Slightly dated decor esp in bathrooms but otherwise great hotel.
The room was a bit smaller than
we prefer. The complimentary breakfast was rudimentary and
lacked the thoughtfulness that
so many other aspects of the hotel displayed.
Gym very small.
There was no public parking, had to pay $38 for valet parking and I
thought they would not be doing construction on Saturday, boy was I
wrong. I was awaken at 8am by heavy machines.
Elevator was out of order for two (2) of the six (6) days we stayed.
Main front stairs are very steep and ned a railing in the middle. When
the doors are open, there is no available railing at the top of the
stairs. Room lamps should be switched to use compact flourescent bulbs.
Staff seemed to leave lights on in unoccupied rooms for entering guests.
I was in room 7, which was a bit cold. I plan to be back again.
Breakfast service was slow.
Tv did not work.
The shower room didn't have a light and was quite dark.

Check-in desk is awkward with the large desks that make it hard to see
staff. I wasn't given any information about the hotel when I checked
in, especially about the construction directly outside my window though
the ear plugs were a nice add-on.

I liked everything about my stay and will recommend the hotel to others.
Temporary works on the street with noise in the morning. Of course, not the hotel's fault amd hopefully will end in short.

Our room's window was small and gave to the corridor so the room was

18 room tax/fee - Ongoing construction. Couldn't sleep past 7am.
No warning. Subtly left earplugs on your pillows. (They did deduct 25%
off the total room cost, however).
Unable to put me in a room in the main building, breakfast was little more than croissants and coffee and red delicious apples. I was under the impression that it would be eggs, meat, fresh fruit.
Lots of construction ..... the furniture in the sitting area was nasty - would have liked to have a tv in the bedroom instead. The earplugs left on the pillow should have been my first clue to exit!!!.
Unfortunately the building is undergoing extensive rebuilding. Don't stay here until this work is finished, unless you like being woken at 7:15 am by jack hammers. Despite having booked 3 months in advance they placed us in a basement room, facing the courtyard where the demolition was taking place. See your room before you sign anything.

Driving Directions To Our Boutique Hotel In Downtown DC
From Reagan National Airport:Exit the Airport onto the George Washington Parkway. Stay in lane and take the first exit, which is "395 North and 14th Street Bridge". Stay in the right lane. Once over the bridge, curve around to your right and follow signs to the 12th street exit and take that exit. Once on 12th Street NW, you will proceed to K Street and Make a right turn. Proceed to 11th Street NW and turn left. Follow 11th Street NW two blocks and the Inn will be on your right, at the corner of 11th and L Streets NW.
From Dulles International Airport:Take Dulles Access Road to Interstate 66. Follow Interstate 66 all the way into Washington. Exit onto Constitution Avenue. Follow down to 12th Street. Make a left onto 12th Street. Once on 12th Street NW, you will proceed to K Street and Make a right turn. Proceed to 11th Street NW and turn left. Follow 11th Street NW for two blocks. The Inn will be on your right, at the corner of 11th and L Streets NW.
