The location, even though a bit distant from downtown, was great in that Capital Hill has some great restaurants and everything else you as visitor might need---drugstores, banks, grocery store, coffee shops (of course!) Getting downtown was easy with shuttle service provided by hotel, and the drivers were knowledgeable and friendly. The onsite restaurant, Jimmy's, was a great place to relax at end of long, sight- seeing day--there is a great happy hour from 9 P.M. to 11 P.M.!.
all reviews » Never stayed here before. Last minute choice. Delighted with the experience. Room was very comfortable, very nice king bed, refrigerator and microwave, and a separate bar-style sink and counter. Lots of hot water for the shower! Very easy to get to points in Metro Seattle. Breakfast in the room very good an inexpensive. Grocery shopping one block away, lots of small restaurants nearby, also. A very clean hotel with a friendly staff. It has a key system that helps to keep it safe from intruders. It is located close to important places like medical/pharmaceutical buildings and fun things like shopping and farmer's market. The shuttle service is excellent for getting you to downtown tourist sites like Pike's Place, but the hotel is walking distance for those who like to walk. The complimentary shuttle was a huge plus. The front desk staff & drivers were all very courteous, professional, & accommodating. We can't thank them enough for help making our trip in Seattle much nicer. Thank you! We'll definitely stay at your hotel the next time we return to Seattle, not to mention you'll come highly recommended to friends & family should they ask us. Everything far exceeded our expectations. The staff was fantastic, the shuttle service to different attractions and the Jimmy's on Broadway's food was fantastic. The over all stay was great, but the staff really pushed it over the top Lena was fantastic when we checked in, she gave us the low down on the area and explained all of their services offered to their customers. I have stayed at the S/C Broadway in the past cause its close to my doctors at Swedish medical center. I had a king room this stay with a hot tub and it was a very nice room and very updated for being a older hotel. I found the people that worked there very helpful my first room wasn't ready so they put me in a equally as nice of a room with a better view. The hotel was immaculate, the staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle was a life-saver as this hotel is away from the downtown attractions and the space needle. We used it at least five times. The pool and hot tub were clean and inviting. The exercise room looked well equipped, although we didn't get a chance to use it. The front desk staff was amazing as were both shuttle drivers we encountered. Free shuttle service to various points in the city which made it very easy to see the sights since I wasn't renting a vehicle due to a short stay. Very good advice right down to the best way to get to the airport at 4:30 AM. Great staff!. Very friendly and helpful staff room was spacious and love the convenience of having fridge, microwave, sink and countertop great location - we needed to be near century ballroom love having the shuttle love the fact we are able to have 4 people in room without paying more. The staff was exceptional-in the way that they responded to my questions and in the way that they accommodated myself with 2 small children. It really made the difference. The shuttle service was an added bonus and allowed more flexibility with my itinerary and young kids. The ambiance was well balanced -sophisticated yet not stuffy. The pool/spa were really fun for our family. Our room was clean and really comfortable and felt a little more stylish than most hotels we've stayed in. The staff was EXCELLENT-very friendly and helpful. We liked the area, which is why we picked the hotel. The free shuttle is great, staff were friendly and helpful. There were three of us in a double queen room and there was plenty of room, would stay again. $10 a cab ride from the train station. Wonderful staff and also has a free shuttle that takes you to all of the major attractions on the hour. You call when you are ready to be picked up and they are there within 15 minutes. So nice not driving in a city you are not familiar with. The location of the hotel was great. It was walking distance to many good and eclectic restaurants. If you like to see the city on your own two feet, the city center and seaside were an easy walk as were other cool Seattle neighborhoods. I loved the friendly staff and the willingness to help with our accommodations. We had to change rooms because my Mother-in-Law stayed the second night with us and the staff at your hotel went out of their way for us. Thank you!!. The location of the hotel was very convenient. As a nightlife lover it was both close to places where the city is still alive at night and also only 20min walking distance to downtown. Has shuttle service to several places. I liked that they had a shuttle service and some good breakfast places within walking distance. also the grocery store. staff was friendly and helpful and arranged for a car for us to get to the airport..would stay again.. The gym and pool are clean, but we had difficulty getting into them on the two occasions we tried. The mattresses, although bedbug free, do not have mattress covers and ours had a deep impression in the middle. Like all hotels, there is a lot of electronic lights from TV, clock, microwave that I find annoying when trying to sleep. Location could be better (maybe a little safer) & more centralized. A coffee maker & little microwave would be nice since we were there for 3 nights. There was not one thing we didn't like. the only down side was the parking was tight but when you have a full size car its tight everywhere. ONLY bad thing I can come up with but I understand. N/A. I did not see any bins for recycling (paper, glass, plastic) I would like the housekeepers to not replace towels that are hung up to save on laundry, environment. I am a professional single parent and would like to do more trips like this. I booked at the last minute during a busy weekend (gay pride). I didn't like the added taxes/cost of our hotel. However, it was a wonderful experience and the hotel was fantastic. Nothing-we had a great experience. On main road so can be noisy, was fine for us. Nothing negative to say about Silver Cloud. Was surprised when we got the bill. We decided to stay an extra day and were charged a different rate. I certainly understand, but it would have been nice to get the same rate a the other days. Also, not the hotel's fault, but the lodging tax in Seattle is as high as the Space Needle and added another $150 to the tab. Ouch!. This wasn't one thing we didn't like. I don't know if this directly applies to hotel or not. Once we called shuttle to go back to the hotel. Even if we were told that shuttle would come in 20 min we waited for 1 hour but the shuttle did not arrive so we had to walk back to the hotel. 20Min compared to 1 hour. The problem was the misleading info. had dinner at rest one night and it was so cold in there you could of frozen to death.food was good but we had to eat fast before it got cold.. Coffee maker had to be plugged in in the bathroom cuz the outlet on the counter was not working. Tub and sink were slow draining. The smoke alarm battery was low so it woke us up. Needs to have continental breakfast. The breakfasts we used to enjoy, included in our overnight, are not there any more. Wasn't informed of parking charge. Previous visits no parking charge was applied. Jimmy's restaurant was a little lacking in food preparation. Calamari not crispy, not enough cheese on the nachos, watery Bloody Mary, Thai salad didn't taste like Thai food. Bed mattresses a little soft. Immediate surroundings a little bleak, not helpted by the roadwors -- still that's a temporary thing isn't it. All in all very little we didn't like. Nearly all good. We had issues with taxi that did not arrive even though front desk called 3 times. Finally they sent another 30 minutes later. Both days we left our rooms at approximately 10:30 am and when we returned at approximately 3:30 pm the maid had still not made up the rooms. It was taken care of immediately on the first day but the second day the front desk told us that there were 170 rooms in the hotel and they would get to our rooms when they got to them. Wrong answer.... The email address listed on letsbookhotel.com is not regularly monitored. I had emailed them that three SIM cards were being delivered prior to our arrival however on arrival they said they had rejected the first parcel. I gave them an alternate address to forward on the parcels, which they did for one, the other two parcels were rejected also. Mollie did her best to resolve the situation (she was very apologetic and super lovely) however in the end had to buy three new SIMs due to the delays. It is hard to find resteraunts around hote. Parking fee is high, but somewhat understandable. Check-in time was said to be 3:00pm, but room was not ready. Could not turn off fireplace and front desk gave us incorrect information to fix the problem Pure luck that we found the label that said "open here" Returned from the theater a little before 11:00 pm Jimmy's and room service closed at 11:00 Would have been nice if there had been a "Book of Mormon" in the room. all the added on taxes. we were charged $100 dollars in taxes for a 3 night stay. We were even taxed on top of the $19 parking fee. Pool area was very dark, was not a very pleasant area to be in. The first room assigned reeked of smoke. The room wasn't 100% clean (found some hair in the bathroom) not bad enough to complain at the time but just thought we should let you know. The pillows were horrible!! No support. Not good for neck support. Shuttle only ran to 10:30 PM. VERY noisy outside our window both nights. We faced into the courtyard and there was yelling until 3 or 4 every morning. No low flow shower head. No breakfast before 7am. Bagels, juice and coffee would have been nice. We ended up at Ihop around the corner, which we referred to as the worst breakfast experience ever. I felt that with parking and taxes $230+ per night is too much for somewhere to sleep and wash up. I need something in the $140 per night range when on personal time. Nothing.
