It is a lovely old hotel with wonderful antiques everywhere. The location is perfect for seeing the museums and walking downtown. The menu was limited but the dinners we had on the two evenings we ate there were excellent. Delicious apples on the concierge desk, too! Comfy four-poster. Being an Inn it has the feel of a bed & breakfast while still being a hotel. I love the period décor--it added to the flavor of the historic location. The staff was great! David at the front desk was extremely helpful and welcoming! I would definitely stay there again.
all reviews » This is an old quaint inn. Tried to check in early and was told my room wasn't ready yet. They took my cell phone number though and called me with in 30 minutes. Very friendly,helpful staff. Downtown within walking distance. Saratoga Springs is a city that values and keeps its Victorian roots. The hotel is of that age. A few idiosyncracies should be expected. The room was very comfortable and newly rennovated. We enjoyed the stay. We were there for our daughter's wedding weekend. The staff was fantastic.It's an older property but recently preserved and renovated....a step back in history in great Saratoga Springs! We'll be back. Large, quiet, comfortable room. Efficient, friendly check in and check out. Victorian details. Convenient to restaurants, park and downtown Saratoga Springs. The staff was very helpful especially Anna (the hostess). The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast outstanding. All & all a very enjoyable stay. Unpretentious, beautifully appointed with art and classic furniture, friendly knowledgeable staff, quiet location but easy walking distance to downtown. The charm of an older building. They were supposed to have a free hot breakfast buffet but because there weren't that many people staying there they only had a cold continental breakfast. Small bathroom but it is an old building. The new beds are pretty high four posters. While I could crawl up at 5'4", they may want to consider adding a little step stool in the rooms with the higher beds for shorter people and older ages. Liked everything!. Nothing special breakfest. the parking lot is too small.....but i was able to secure a a parking spot. This is not a real negative point, but be prepared to search for light switches - they are sometimes on other places than today's people would expect it. nothing. I can't think of anything I didn't like. Should have had a flat screen TV. Cramped feeling on main floor, outdated styles. Not much. Our only complaint was the lack of available parking spaces for hotel guests. The breakfast was lacking Poor food. was a cold breakfast in the winter. How about a self serve waffle maker, something hot, there was no protein. i didn't care for the table clothes at breakfast... which sounds rather silly when saying it. The elevator was too slow. Front room was noisy - street traffic. Trouble in Bathroom with outlets that would not work even when rset button set. Clerk did not attend to repair. shower was cold water. For some reason, very, very high bed. Room 120 has a double where as other on a sneak viewing seemed to have more reasonable lower twins. Hotel a bit faded. No umbrellas available on a very wet day. Very stuffy, overpriced, rude staff, and dated facility. Would not recommend.
