We were attending a 65th birthday party during the day and needed somewhere nearby to sleep with our 2 kids, ages 6 and 8. We arrived about 9 pm, got checked in quickly, set up the sofabed, got the kids cleaned up and into bed quickly. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. Check out was quick and simple. The kids wanted to use the hot tub but we didn't have time.. next time. The wonderful feather beds with soft high thread count linens. Amazing comfort! Totally unexpected for a $103 1 night stay. I already looked to see where I can find another Larkspur. Stayed next night at 4 star San Fran hotel. It didn't compare to Larkspur spacious bathrooms, linens and certainly no coffee in room. Never mind a full breakfast as Larkspur.
all reviews » Brekkie was fantastic. Quiet area and room. Washing/drying facilities great. All staff pleasant and helpful. Exceptionally clean hotel. Fruit always supplied at reception and bikkies supplied for afternoon tea. Endless tea/coffee at reception area. Excellent, modern accomodation. The two double beds were in separate rooms which is useful. Has a small kitchen area with fridge, microwave, two ring hob and sinl. The rooms are spacious and nicely arranged. Their is a nice laundry place, which is good when traveling around with children. The breakfast is good and healthy. Your staff was excellent; accommodating. Breakfast was adequate. Room was clean, and the two-bedrm suite met our needs. Plus, there was no charge for parking. The staff, the location of the hotel, the comforts in the room - are all excellent. The self laundry services were complimentary and great. We were very satisfied with the kind staff. Especially Tanya at the front desk who was pleasantly helpful with our special requests. Price, convenient location, comfortable, very modern and clean...even got to use the hot tub. Loved the free cookies and apples!. location next to the American River Parkway. Staff was extremely friendly and the room was very large. Barbeque, jacuzzi, good kitchen incl dishwasher, large desk, very good sized comfortable beds. Breakfast was lovely, great value hotel, clean and well equipped room and kitchen. additional bedroom. had to use it to get away from refrigerator noise. the staff is friendly and check in was fast,the room was confortable. Pokey room, not well designed. Double bed - I thought all hotels now have at least queen beds. About 10 miles from Downtown. I thought I was booking a hotel in town. (my fault entirely). Nothing really. The fact that the hotel is pet friendly can make your stay a nightmare. We were unfortunate enough to be given a room opposite to a "dog visitor room" in a "dog friendly floor". Meaning several dogs on the same floor barking, responding joyfully at one another. Of course, the dog's owners were out leaving their pets alone..... So do be careful when you book a pet friendly hotel. All is good. Some furniture was in a fairly dilapidated state (the chair in the room), and looked very old. The hotel has a very old and been there look, and could do with an upgrade to make it look fresher. However, everything works and is available. Only thing I can think of: it'd be great if they could do more breakfast options (besides cereal, breads, etc), but it was nice that it was included. Refrigerator in the room needed to be noisy. Only one small niggle - the suite had a slightly odd smell, vaguely unpleasant. Slightly outdated decor, but this was no big deal to us. place for breakfast was too small and need more tables and chairs to enjoy it. That the spa isnt 24 hrs. The bed is quite soft for me. I prefer mattresses not too much soft. Toilet overflowed at 2:00 in the morning. Had to change rooms. Staff handled well though. windows were dirty. the view from our rooms on old and abandon warehouse. Wrinkled bedding - dust ruffle was very wrinkled and sloppily placed on bed taking away from an otherwise neat room. The rooms were not properly checked by house keeping. My original room had a clogged bathroom sink and dishwasher which leaked. Re-assigned room had a burnt out light in bathroom and clogged bathtub. The air conditioner would only blow cool air at highest setting.
