  We were two mothers and two teen daughters visiting colleges. Very convenient to downtown Madison and the University. Huge room - very unexpected - including a pull out sofa, fridge, microwave & sink area. Very clean and comfortable.   we like everything.. staff actually knew who the customer was and how to treat customers. clean and the nicest hotel I have been in in years. nicest staff ever.... good value - The staff were fantastic!   The hotel lies next to Harbour with day round fishing by the locals. When the season is right you can see large fish jumping from the water. On the other side of the harbour is the lighthouse which was built in 1866. The lobby of the hotel is very spacious and staff was friendly. There is a large free parking for hotel guests. This was the only hotel in the area that tried to help weary travelers. The staff was extremely helpful and gave us a gorgeous view of the lake.   We have stayed twice at this hotel, once in 2012 and once in 2013. Both times we found the staff friendly, the rooms very clean and the whole hotel very well maintained.   I had a nice queen bed suite for a VERY reasonable price. The place has an indoor pool with jacuzzi and a nice breakfast in the AM. Another nice touch is they have a little store near the front desk with snack foods;chips,cookies and even some cheese curds and some wine/alcohol for sale(they can't sell it until 9 PM though-state law).
