  Lovely breakfast with lots of fruit. There was always someone of the (very friendly) staff around whom we could bother with our questions. For $10 we could rent an underwater camera to take on our snorkelling tour - we even got a great shot of a sea-turtle! There was a ton of beach-gear that we could take with us on our excursions for no extra cos... what people say » t. Working wi-fi, nice spa, etc. etc. Luxury-wise the Guesthouse is better than any hotel, with the additional bonus that you are one of only a few pa - Tanna, the host, is a lovely person. You can borrow whatever you want... (snorkling gear, DVDs, Picnic gear...) You can use the house like it's your own. There is planty of soaps, shampoos, bathtowels for the beach, beach umbrella, beach chair for use... If you need help for booking anything, just ask Tanna. She knows the island like a grown up. And the most important is that you can sit in a hot tub after a long day out... just heaven

  Patricia is an awesome host. We really felt like part of the family during our stay. Everything was very homely and comfortable and the location great for walking into hilo town itself for a beer and for exploring the sites of the big island. Oh and the breakfast is great too. - Perfect place, we loved it here. Patricia has a lovely home and she rents out rooms to guests. So this is more a homestay than a hotel. Everything was clean and cosy, and breakfast was definitely the best we had in Hawaii!!! Take a close look at the address and a map before you go though, because there is no sign on the house.

There was a lot of fresh food prepared for us: fruits, home baked cookie, yogurt... It is quasi in the jungle, you can feel, and hear the nature, no civilization noises at all like cars. If you feel the need for a calm place away from the big city and stil - We were supplied with all the breakfast items we could want for our 4 day stay. The fruit was especially good! It’s located in a beautiful quiet garden and close to the volcano park. We stayed for one night only, but sincerely hope to return for a longer stay. The owner is a very nice person who pays attention to the small details.

  Upon arriving, we parked in the spot labeled Pineapple. Toby was working in his "man cave" and came out to greet us immediately. He showed us around the lower level facilities including the hoses to rinse off sand; the beach chairs, snorkel gear and coolers we could use for our stay (even sunscreen), and the outdoor shower and hot tub.
