What people say
The Staff was friendly to me. However, the property needs improvements and I do believe they are doing it room by room. As a guest in a hotel, we need to respect the properties and not tear them down like we are animals this will make any money they spend on repairs and improvements worthwhile and then we can all enjoy them!.
Perfect for a quick getaway. The staff was so nice, courteous and helpful. The bed was firm and comfy. The room was very bright with sun.The new owners are working hard to update the hotel so it should only get better!. all reviews »
Can't beat the price at $45/night. It's right in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. They have a nice pool and hot tub area. It was quiet, I didn't hear any neighbors.
the staff is very accommodating and friendly. the rooms are A great value for the money. the hotel is in A very good location.
Good clean pool. Nice hot tub. Secure room. Next to room parking. Very friendly staff, seemed like a friendly family business.
We love the desert lodge for the price and location you can't beat it. We stay there every time we are in town.
The room had all the amenities I look for, the staff is very is very nice and Wi-Fi is included.
It is walking distance to the down town places to see and thing to do.
nice size, clean room...allows pets.
Good location and clean room.
budget.
The staff was nice and the room was decent. You pay for what you get. I was expecting a whole lot worse from the reviews. Not so bad, if I had to stay again I would.
price, price, did I say price?.
Management/ staff.
the price.
Not much just a place to sleep very run down. Safety concerns no lock on sliding door needed a lot of work, Location great but would have spent more for a cleaner and more upto date like motel 6.
Nice place if you're on a budget. so close your eyes and don't pay attention to other things
Laundry is great one here.
The only good thing about this place is price, although for a few extra
dollars you can get a much nicer place.
I stayed there the night after Riding the 55 mile Tour De Palm Springs. It was cheap.
Close to town and very close to where I was starting my bike ride
(cycling).
The location was close to nearby restaurants and the Aerial Tram.
Nice lobby staff quiet area.
Location was pretty good.
Very good localization.
Clean, comfortable bed.
Location near the city.
Location is good.
We wanted charm, quaint and a jacuzzi. Off the beaten track, quiet. A
place where we relax. The hotel needs maintenance. Repairs were being
done. The photos shown "on-line" were from a better time.
I like nothing. It was nightmare staying there. I booked on rush and didn't have time to carefully review it before booking.
Great 1/2 star motel
2 mi from lots of great food..
I would only recommend this motel as a last resort.
worth @ $15/night.
Nothing. Desert Lodge is a scumbag piece of infested shit. You are lucky
that I'm not calling amx to report you.
Hated it with a passion. Bleak paint. Old unusable microwave but worst of all cockroaches all over!!!!!.
I felt the quality as well as the management was very poor but I will never go there again Robert.
The shower, the TV and the Wi-Fi, refrigerator and microwave.
It was close to the location that I needed.
Nothing. It's disgusting and scary.
Nothing.
Price.
Needs a fresh cost of paint in the rooms.
They seem not to have house keeping on site every day. When I get there on Sunday night, I was told that house keeping had not been in that day, and I couldn't have a downstairs room because they didn't have any clean. I stayed until Wednesday morning, and did not see house keeping once. When I needed toilet paper, I had to call down and ask for some, and the desk attendant brought it to my room.
the stairs are very steep, not very user friendly if you have A lot of luggage.
Because of the very affordable price... Some undesirable elements were present. However, this is true wherever you go. I found the stay safe and secure.
You shouldn't expect a 5 star motel the property is old and the rooms need refurbishing but for the price and the friendly staff it's not so bad. Definitely would refer our friends and family to stay there.
shower head was too low for hubby.
Expensive because of Coachella weekend!.
There were no complaints this time for me.
bathrooms had water rot, and carpets dirty, no iron, no hair dryer, or coffee maker, windows had no lock in bathroom.
Disrepair, cold jacuzzi, broken windows, dirty towels.
the rooms was clean but thay never refreshed the room or cleaned it and the shower/ tub was NASTY the floor of the tub was Black it was a white tub sink was falling off the wall its a place to be if you was like me out of the room at 8am and not back till 11pm just used it for sleep.
In very poor shape.
Cleaniness
Poor wifi signal in room.
Night time staff was horrible. The guy kept asking how many people we
had even though it was only me and my friend he was very suspicious that
we had more to the point that he was waiting for us to unload our stuff
and go to the room to make sure we were only two people. The place is a
dump without very basic amenities such a towel hook in the bathroom. Do
yourself a favor and stay at the Travelodge next door for few bucks
more! Thank me later.
The Room was Dirty. Stains all over the walls.
The Room and the Jacuzzi was dirty.
I was looking for a place closer to town and with nicer pool and jacuzee for after my 55 mile bike ride.
No maid service until third day. Had to ask for fresh towels and soap.
Place needs a good cleaning and some fresh paint. I should get some kind
of a rebate.
We booked the room for two nights. The staff locked us out of the room on Saturday as they did not communicate that we had to check out by 11am.
The room was not in good shape.
The room was dated with water spots on ceiling tub was stained black and blinds were broken seedy characters hanging out in parking lot.
Everything else. It was quite horrible - the room was a mess, with weird stains on the walls and carpet. The bathroom was as bad as a dorm room with four college kids - I almost did not want to shower in there. We also didn't realize it was a smoking room until we got to the door. Overall, a terrifying place to stay.
The air-conditioner doen't work very well, outside were 40ºC and it takes about 3 houres to get room temperature to get some sleep.
The furniture is old, very old.
I only book there because it was spring break and all the other Hotels were full or were like 300$ per night, for the price you can get much better (except if you go on special dates and if only can book one day before).
Not even a small , even tiny bar of soap, forget shampoo or hair dryer.
door stuck so badly I was afraid I couldn't get in.
no screen on bathroom window, nice view though.
The place was full of roaches crawling around...
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in Palm Springs. Broken furniture, dreary, loud AC, leaky faucets, stained tub, TV alternated between color and B&W, Room cleaned only once during 3-night stay...saved money though.
Stuck us in different room than what we reserved.
I felt afraid . It felt old. The carpeting looked dirty. The shower was
leaking. I was worried about bed bugs. I would not stay there again,
nomad tear how cheap it was.
The jacuzzi was turned off and cold the pool not heated. The manager
said they didn't turn item on until Nov. The maintenance mgr. Said
he turned it off as they had no guests and it was cold and he forgot to
turn it back on.
Dirty, everything worn out, very poor maintenance, very very poor service.
My worst experience of hotels.
Everything is very over-rated even for a cheap motel
I paid $36 a night for a place that should have paid me.
I wouldn't list this motel if it were the last one in PS.
Needs a total renovation - demo the place and start over.
Everything from the noisey ac to no hot water. Actually I'm calling
amx tomorrow morning to complain about your company, false advertising,
and your Desert Lodge affiliation with the owner and crack head
residents.
There weren't that many lights. No complimentary soap, shampoo, etc. The room was infested with cockroaches making us not want to sleep in the room therefore causing us to leave before it was even midnight. Wouldn't reccomend.
The place is very run down. I was given the most inconvenient room with long, steep stairs to climb after a trek across the property. It was uncomfortable. Fortunately, I was off-site most of the time.
The upstairs tenant was very loud and distrubing. Loud noist in the
early morning hours had to contact the desk twice about the noise. The
shower inside looked like it had mold in it. There was a strong oder of
urine in the room which required the burning of insence to eliminate
the order.
The list could go on and on. Just don't do it!.
It looked like it was under construction at first glance, but it
wasn'T. Everything was worn.
Rude staff, smoking room when unsmoking requested, afriad of not paying for things.
I was so scared I left after an hour and found a safe room . Connecting
door to other room had no lock it was a total waste of my money. I ended
up spending double to be safe.
I did not like anything. The room was dirty and it had a mildew odor. The staff was not friendly. They had a poker face at all times. The pool as too small.
