I stayed at fit Hotel twice in a month. I was with them for a week and
then for a couple of days.
The location is definitely 5 stars. Being at the Upper West Side (Manhattan), it is right next to Central Park and the important museums. [Take my word for it, once you live in the UWS neighborhood you wouldn't want to try the other neighborhoods. The subway is a block away. A deli owned by a Yemeni is just at the corner of the street near the hotel. You should buy a sandwich from them.
The staff a. all reviews
Its actually not a hotel but a hostel dormitory type with private
rooms..we got one and it's really spacious with a private
bathroom.towels are readily available anytime ..bagels or muffin with
coffee or tea is a bonus for that cheap price ..us$330 for 4 nights is
really awesome..tax included..the metro bus is nearby which can take you
to different tourist spots...restaurants and groceries are very
nearby..the heater works well..the lounge serves as our resting area
during the night after check.
The staff is so nice.
Especially on my check-out date.
She even help me call a shuttle for going to airport although the shuttle was not available for me.
But she is so kind and friendly.
The room's facilities are quite simple. If you are backpacker, it's a good place for you.
The bathroom is very clean, but one of them can't find place to hang my clothes. Thanks to I brought my hangers. They have free blanket in the counter. Wifi is not free but you can use free wifi in the lobby, and the conn.
Location was great - easy access to public transit and tour bus route! Staff was very caring and answered all questions with ease and accuracy; they really care about their guests safety and comfort. Kitchen and lounge area were a nice touch, so were the muffins/bagels/coffee/tea every morning; very relaxing and casual - well equipped with whatever you needed to feel at home. It was just what I needed . . .comfortable and affordable place to stay while touring the city!.
The entire staff from the management down was extremely friendly and accommodating. Facilities is very clean especially the bathrooms which is always a pet peeve of mine. Laundry is just downstairs. I would recommend the place to anyone.
Staff were pretty helpful, the night front desk guy was great. Room was basic but fit the need. Was expensive for what it was but it is New York. Very close to Central Park and a downtown subway which was great. Would stay here again :).
- Wonderful location
- Cleaner than I expected
- Room size isn't as small as described in the reviews
- Free breakfast although kinda skimpy (you should probably buy your own OJ and a pastry to complement it)
- Nice guests.
I liked the location, it's near 1,2,3 train. 1 train 1 block down. I liked that each room has it's own a/c, even though it's really loud atleast its there, especially for the summer time. Place is clean.
It is well located, includes the breakfast. I was in a mixed shared room (because girls shared room was full), I hadn't problems with my roommate. It was good to satey there. I would recomend it.
The cheapest for its location
Cleaner than I expected
Very decent bathroom
Just two ppl in the room
Friendly guests, cool crowd
Calm and quiet when you need rest.
The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was comfortable. It was very close to a metro stop and plenty of restaurants nearby.
If all you need is a bed and a shower you can save $1500 over the price
of a hotel in nyc. Great location in Manhattan.
really cheap, free wifi, perfect location in NYC, 5 mins to central park 2 to sub, cool people to meet.
It has a subway station just a few blocks aways. Great location, staff was really nice.
I met so many good people there. Reception was so friendly and place is really clean.
The location is good. Close to Central Park and the Metro. Good value for New York.
Very friendly staff. Nice big room. Comfortable bed. Good coffee.
Good location, nice staff, good beds. Normal breakfast.
Very friendly staff. Clean rooms and restrooms.
Loved the location, friendliness of the staff.
Proximity to the subway and midtown.
i've already told this....
Location
Lounge
Lunch.
everything is fine!.
staff was friendly.
Male night staff.

location. Great location, clean bathrooms, friendly and young people around, satisfying breakfast. I felt in a good environment and I'm always really demanding on the places where I stay while I travel. I'm satisfied of the choice made, I would go there again and I would suggest to a friend of mine. The price is competitive considering the location and the average price of hostels and other places in NYC.
I liked the European feel of the hostel- it had simple accommodations
and a really neat old elevator. The bathrooms were clean and it was nice
to get a shower in. I also felt comfortable sleeping in the bed- the
bedding was simple but clean.
Proximity to metro and central park. Good for students, back-packers. Cheap compared to other places in Manhattan. Shared bathrooms were cleaner than what I expected them to be.
Location - 3 blocks from Central Park and public transit very accessible. Also, convenience stores, supermarkets and cafes were all nearby.
This hostel does the job when all your looking for is a bed to sleep in and a running shower! good location. free breakfast was yum!.
They had breakfast available in the morning, even though it said no breakfast included. Met lots of fellow travellers.
The breakfast was good - fresh bagels and cream cheese
The location is excellent - right next to subway.
The room and the price was great. The location in Manhattan is also wonderful.
Close to 2 subway lines, 10 minutes to time square. Warm comfy room.
Location, 24-hours service, breakfast, towel and sheets included.
Is near the 86 subway!
The air conditioner works very wel!.
Location is very good.
There is a laundry service.
Breakfast, Wifi, Shared bathrooms.
Good price and localization.
my room, the workers.
Good location.
Good location.
The location is great: 2 min walking to 1-2-3 metro line station, 2 blocks to the Central park, lots of diners/restaurants, a cinema etc.
Considering prices in NY and the fact that I was alone this hostel is satisfactory.
The location is good, near the subway and a cvs across the street. The
care team is good.
The location and it was the cheapest price I could find.
Cheap, good WIFI, close to Metro station.
good bed. place to crash...
The carpet in the room needs some cleaning. Brochures and flyers for
tourists are very limited..weird elevator! But it still takes u on the
right floor...very small hallways..not a pretty site to take pictures
from outside the main door ..black plastic garbages around...but u get
all these for a cheap room price..it actually is not a big deal but it
may be improved ....thanks jazz !.
The bathroom is very clean, but one of them can't find place to hang my clothes. Thanks to I brought my hangers. The lockers are inside the room, but it can't lock.
Clanking sound - which I later found out to be plumbing - woke me up several times (was ok considering the age of the building).
- One of the receptionists wasn't very helpful
- A lot of noise coming from the street...but after all it's the city, not really a problem of the hotel per se.
They had homeless people who spelled really bad next to one of the rooms and the Air Conditioner is so loud its hard to sleep with it on.
no free wi-fi.
The bed squeaked when you turned over.
Hallway floor dirty. Suitable for college students or people who can
rough it a little. Probably inadequate for well off adults.
breakfirst will be better in the other place.. :).
There was a strange noise coming out from the pipes and it was bit annoying.
Some personel doesn't know english.
My roommate was a grouch. Too bad, I usually meet very nice people in hostel type hotels.
Noisy heating pipes and yet no heat! Ran out of bagels early in the morning.
Shower and wi-fi is paid service.
not much to complain about-given the price, one knows what one should expect.
It was a little warm in the room. I know that a/c is expensive, but I would be willing to pay more for a comfortable temperature.
Bathrooms.
Female staff- "I can't help you".
there was a mouse in my room. This mouse got into my bag and ate chocolate.
The view from my room was a brick alley way- there was white dust around
the floor of my room from construction- and a chemically smell (wet
paint?). The shower head needed replacing but it worked.
Banging due to maintenance work on pipes from 5 or 6 in the morning was not cool at all. I am a heavy sleeper but my colleague had problems due to it. Room was very small with a bunk-bed. Saw 1 cockroach.
No one told me that the hostel had a lounge in the basement. I only found it by accident. The stairwell needs to be refurbished; the rubber treading was rotten. The windows needed to be washed. There was no bathmat in the bathroom and the floor was wet. There was no mirror in the bathroom or my room. There were no blankets in my room but another guest said there were extras in their room. Overall, I would say this facility needs better management.
wifi isnt free.
could have been nicer, but it was so cheap for a good location it didnt mattee.
The bathrooms were not that clean and the showers were cold
Beds are not comfortable, but will do for a few nights.
I wish the staff had told me that there were blankets in the safety boxes. I did not know they were there in the first place.
And although I did not use the shower, it looked a little disgusting.
No free internet like advertised. Old building with minimal facilities.
Strict 3pm check in....
A bit old in the staircase and elevator. No control of clean sheets and who stayed in the room. Just cold water in the shower.
The stairs makes the hotel looks like an terror movie!!
They don't give towel, so remember to bring yours to take a shower!
Tha staff do ONLY what you ask, if you don't ask they won't help you with the luggage and all this stuff!.
Toilet was not clean. It was cold and heating system did not work.
The room had no curtain.
They must do some imperative works. Room 305 too too small!!.
I haven't been there a long time, cause that I can't write nothing exactly. But u need to pay to use wifi and stuff isn't polite u.
one of the bathrooms and staircaisse and paid internet.
Bathrooms on first 2 floors bathroom on level 3 was revolting. Staff were rude and unfriendly.
Wery old restroom.
Not too clean. a cup of tea left by somebody on a windowsill remain there for 9 days i spent there and I'm pretty sure an new lifeform was born there.
Noise. I don't know whether it's a NY issue or just that neighbourhood but sometimes it was so loud you couldn't hear what people say.
The facilities are bad. Old building, no central heating, no maid
service in the rooms and although the site informing that the internet
is free in public areas, it does not exist: the internet is paid (usd3,
99 a day or usd7.99 For 3 days or usd14.99 For a week - running across
the hotel area). Problems of lack of hot water and leaks in the room.
Small room and no lockers to store personal items.
The bathroom was horrible with only cold water. Although it was the cheapest place I could find it was still poor for this money as when we returned to NY we rented a studio for only a bit more!.
Ants in the Room, Beds maid of metal and making noice with every movement.
there are no chairs or table in room. bad lighting so hard to even read.
