The hotel was really nice and in perfect location near the French quartet but still far enough from all the noise of Bourbon Street. For our surprise, the hotel offered free complimentary breakfast for each morning which was really good. The staff was helpful and helped us to book a nice swamp tour. The pool area was also a nice extra bonus, because we didn't know about it beforehand. Although the room was a bit small and we did have noisy neighbors, the overall experience in that price was exc.
all reviews » Location was excellent, staff very helpful and friendly, good breakfast. As part of a package that was purchased online we went on a 4 day cruise and had 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency. The nights at Cotton Exchange were an add on that we purchased on our own. We preferred the Cotton Exchange by far. We wouldn't hesitate to come again and recommend it to our friends. Not so of the Hyatt. We would never go there again. Your staff is really excellent!. All the staff were excellent, providing helpful advice and taking care of any of the small things that came up. Southern hospitality at its' finest. Can't beat the location for walking around to everything in the downtown area. The breakfast included with the room gave plenty of variety every day. A nice surprise. Would definitely stay again if back to NOLA. My card wasn't charged when I booked. The amount that I had to pay at check out varied from my receipt with letsbookhotel.com. The plugs in the basin & bathtub were both broken. I was told maintenance would fix it but it didn't happen. Housekeeping took my tip but didn't replace my towels. I had to go down and get them myself. Saw a small cockroach. We found the hotel to be clean and the room was comfortable. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The ladies at the front desk were exceptional! The gentleman who stored our luggage until check-in, plus saved us from getting a parking ticket for being in the loading zone, plus being super nice in a stressful situation, deserves a raise. Within walking distance to many New Orleans attractions. Enjoyed many areas without having to use alternate transportation. We were there before and after a cruise, hotel personnel helped us achieve transportation to cruise port, stored luggage on return as we were too early to check in. Very helpful. Breakfast was also much appreciated. You could not ask for a better location for Mardi Gras...3 minutes walk from the parades and 5 minutes to the French Quarter and Riverwalk. The room provided a safe haven when I wanted to escape the crowds and the breakfast was very good....especially the sausage and biscuits. I appreciated that they also had fresh fruit for breakfast. Great location! The bell man Mervin was awesome! The hotel is just a 2 minute walk from bourbon st. We walked every where! The room was good. Nice and quiet. You don't hear all the partying and street noise so that was a plus. Early check in and they hold your bags if you check out before leaving the city and want to look around. Hotel is located in the French Quarter, close to Canal Street and Bourbon. Perfect for exploring the city. There is a streetcar line right in front of the hotel. Room was clean, staff friendly. Great location - a block from Bourbon Street [can't be more central that that!] Some rooms don't have windows, as we were staying three nights, after the 1st we asked if we could have one with windows and the staff immediately moved us to a windowed room. Clean, very accomodating as we got there earlier than 4pm and a room was given to us as soon as we arrived so we could rest after a week long cruise with family, and we appreciated the free breakfast as food is very expensive in New Orleans. Loved the location. As soon as we arrived we met Merlin. He was very kind and a very pleasant man. You are very lucky to have him. the girls who worked the counter were all very helpful and very friendly. You have a good group working here. - i liked how it was easy to book on line - I liked the affordable rates and the location of the hotel. - I liked the front desk staff...they were efficient and courteous. - I liked that the hotel has Wi-Fi -Generally I enjoyed my stay :-). The convenient location 2 blocks from Bourbon Street. The hot free breakfast that changed selections each day. The friendly staff. Nice clean rooms. The hotel is very well priced and located closely to the main downtown places to visit. The room is fairly large and has all needed facilities including microwave, cofee machine, iron, tv, fridge. The check in was quick and professional. The valet was wonderful and friendly. The location was perfect for all we wanted to do while we were there. We will be staying there again our next trip. Room we used on return from cruise was excellent, large and well equipped. The price was much more than I would usually pay for a room. I have stayed in a Hilton Hotel for half as much, but I suppose I was paying Mardi Gras rates. The entrance to the hotel is a bit shabby which made me wonder what my room would be like, but the room was very nice. Also, 4:00 check in seems very late to me....fortunately my room was clean so they let me in at 3:00. When we first arrived they said my credit card was declined but it was taken out of my account. We stood at the front desk for like 20 min and they just looked at the computer screen before saying what happened. But they got it fixed. The toliet ran for like 20 min after flushing. The pillows were to small and only gave you 3. Tv is outdated. You would think they would have flat screens. Other than that it was a great stay. There was a weird, almost unhealthy smell in our room which came from the a/C. The nice evening receptionist switched us to another room without any questions. Unfortunately this room smelled too, maybe a bit less. But it was in the back of the hotel and we didn't hear the streetcar at night so this was good. Though the hotel was nice, clean and close to the major attractions I wouldn't come back because of the a/c problem. The vending machines did not have any sandwiches. On our last day there was no running water. I was told it was a city issue but felt we should have been compensated for not being able to use the bathroom. -I did not like that the housekeeping staff always forgot to replenish coffee, towels, and toiletries (lotion/conditioner etc) in my room. On 2 occasions, I had to request the front desk staff to supply these later in the evening when I returned to my room, and they courteously did. Partying college students on weekends were very noisy late at night. One sounded like he was trying to kick in a door in the middle of the night. Luckily they were only there on weekends but not a good family atmosphere when they are there. Maids often forgot little things in the rooms like coffee cups or coffee packs. Number of towels, wash cloths provided was a bit of a lottery. Staff always very helpful when this was brought to their attention. We didnt have hot water(but i didnt complain) and the air didnt work great but it was summer and we took cold showers it was ok because everyone was so great dont self park if u have a big truck or suv. The breakfast was quite poor in terms of diversity. It takes a long time to get hot water from the tap. During check in we had a long trip and was unable to find a convient restroom close by while waiting to check in. Other than that we liked every part of our stay. Parking is a bit of a pain if you want to keep using your car multiple trips every day, but if you walk/taxi everywhere, who cares? Reasonable rates as well. Parking, but that is a problem in EVERY city! It was close..just around the corner...and the staff there were excellent too. The elevator is very slow and the telephone was not answered if agent was working alone. Rooms were very dark. The night staff was not too friendly when I had problem with my room key & getting into my room. Other than that I was very pleased with my stay. The outdoor pool water was cold. Could have been a little cleaner. Floor had stains. Shower curtain had stains. Also, at 1:30 in the am some drunk tried to get in our room on an accident but it was still a little scary. The only negative thing I can say is that the tub could have been a little whiter but that's it. The adjoining door between the rooms allowed a lot of noise to transmit between the two bedrooms what I want to take a shower there was no handle on the faucet in tub which the maid should have reported the maintenance so I had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring a new handle. Key did not work in pool area which is where I was required to smoke and the safe in my room did not work properly. Room was very small and took awhile to get our vehickle out of Valet to go home. Other than that I don't have any complaints. There was a problem with the room keys, but it was solved as soon as possible. However, it was an inconvinience at the time. The lobby had an overwhelming smell of smoke. The water took forever to get hot. The curtains didnt close properly so made it hard to sleep in after a lot of travelling. $28 a day extra for the parking. Took 3/4 hour for them to get our car when we checked out. Hotel getting a bit "old" looking. Everything additional to the room was very expensive. The business center was $4.99 for 15 minutes use if you needed it. Parking was well over $20 a day, and valet was never friendly or even readily available to take your car. Nothing. The hotel is very good!. nothing. Not much to say maybe bigger bath towels. Very well used rooms, carpets and chair seats none too clean. Too many party people in hall ways. I would say the room had no window view to the outside, walls very thin could hear complete conversation while lady was talking to her daughter on phone.
