  This is one of the cheapest locations I stayed in NY, where even the YMCA (where they treat you like a dog) charges 119 USD per night. For less than half that price this is a perfectly located, clean and efficient hostel with friendly staff. Only 2 blocks from Penn station and the air train to JFK! - The location was great & quiet. I got a towel & a clean one when asked for it.

  I really liked everything. It is such a cosy place to stay. Everything what a person may be in need of in one's travel is available. Wifi, beverages, all facilities work excellently. Location is wonderful, too. I think that without the stuff such high standards would not have been achieved. The price is acceptable for a common person and traveller... what people say » .   I felt very good there. It's not a typical hotel, each room is actually just a very small space of floor which is taken mostly of the bed and just a small cupboard, and the room is separated from the others just by a tiny wall. So you feel like sleeping in a large space of beds, but at least you don't see the person sleeping nearby. Although it do... what people say » esn't sound perfect, it was really nice there. The atmosphere was great, the staff was very friendly. I guess, I got lucky with good "neighbours", so - This place can only be as good as the people who stay there - the walls between rooms in the sleeping area don't reach the ceiling and every sneeze is audiable to everyone (you can't hear check-in counter or lobby area, as they are in a different room). During my stay, the hotel was fully booked and the guests were backpackers from Canada, us and Europe. All guests were very quiet and considerate of others.   Location was great but not as close to the subway as I had hoped or was lead to believe. I did enjoy walking through the community though and so did the rest of our group of 8. We will return when our budget will allow only a minimal cost. - price and calm
