The Carriage House sets across the street from the Econo Lodge where we stayed 20 years ago. The cost of the rooms was cheaper. It was clean and all you have to do is walk across the road to the econo lodge to use their indoor pool or hot tub. The staff at the econo lodge are very friendly and helpful. We would definatly use the carriage house again. We were the only ones which actually stayed in the hotel. Everyone else was across the street at the Econo Lodge, which was actually nice since we didn't have anyone walking around or being loud.
all reviews » Room was clean and comfortable, staff were accommodating. Had everything I needed for my stay--coffee pot, fridge, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, tv, and excellent wifi with a desk. Clean convenient rooms close to the horse show. Good a/c, refrigerator in the room, no noise. Sufficient for our needs after exhausting outdoor activities. Wouldn't exactly like to hang out in there, but comfortable and quiet to crash in. Good to be able to use pool in hotel across the road. Breakfast also served there which was fine. The room was clean. quiet. The only complaint is minor. When you arrive at the hotel there is only a small sign on the office door telling you to register across the street at the Econo Lodge. If it had been at night we would have been at a loss to know what to do. Had to run across the street to visit the hot tub. Nothing. I booked online and stated that I was bringing two dogs and chose this hotel as it allowed dogs. On arrival I was informed that dogs weren't allowed there. Because the online information said otherwise the staff were accomodating and allowed my dogs to stay. Had to check in at the Econolodge across the street. And the exterior isn't the cleanest. Inside and outside are very outdated. You had to go across the street to the EconoLodge if you needed anything. Common areas such as stairways were not well maintained. Although the main entrance was key carded, it never locked. It was pricey (resort area). The place is very dated. If you get stuck across the road - it is run down. breakfast offered is a joke-unless someone likes to stand up to eat breakfast-one table with 4 chairs doesn't work-we went to Howard Johnsons- great breakfast for the price. I had requested late check out due to a 1/2 marathon I was running and "the best we can do is 12" I don't feel they were very accomodating as letsbookhotel.com made them sound. They overcharged me two nights and it has been very complicated to speak to the manager and to get my money back. The breakfast room is a bunker with dirty tables and not enough room. It's like eating in a prison. Reserved 2 queen beds but was given room with 1 queen bed. Took a long time to switch rooms. The facility has not been updated in many years. The chairs, sheaths and carpet very dirty and full of stains. Will not stay there again.
