The hotel was a good value and close to the lake and shops. The bed was comfortable and I liked having a large Jacuzzi in my room. I didn't spend much time in my room so it was perfect for what I needed, a hot shower, comfortable bed and a peace and quiet. Also the room was actually two rooms, one for the bed and one as a sitting area. The value special for the room was exceptional. It was a nice big room that was very clean. The location at the end of main street was fantastic as well. Made it so that we could walk downtown without having to pay for parking. We had a great view of the lake and we would love to come back in the summer to see Lake Placid then.
all reviews » My husband and I stayed in room 237 we loved the location of the room and the domestic goddess that was responsible for the up keep of our room. She was a sweetheart. The botel was clean and the staff was helpful and courteous. We will definitely be returning and would love the same room. The hotel was clean, very well maintained and clean. It had a fridge, microwave and esspreso maker. The location is very very good, right next to the main street, can wal easily to any shops and restaurants. The town is beautiful, super recommendable. We were able to enjoy my son in the Ironman race on 7/28/2013. It was great to have no worries about seeing the race, loved that we never had to move our car everthing was in walking distants. I had a beautiful suite, it was walking distance to everything in the village, the outdoor restaurant was pleasant, very clean,free parking, it had a jetted tub, I got a great deal. Location was excellent. Our room had a view of Mirror Lake. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Short drive to local attractions. Nice renovation, clean, comfortable, Good location close to main street shops, resturants,movies etc. Easy access to Mirror lake activities. It was right on main street by all the shops and the lake. didnt have to pay for parking since the hotel was literally right by everything!. I called from the room to ask if we could change the king size bed for 2 doubles and the girl that picked up the phone told me to wait, did not mute the phone and started singing to someone else "cal for you". I thought it was pretty unproffesional. I liked everything. Didn't have a breakfast service, although coffee and pastries were available in the foyer. The single cup coffee makers. Please go back to the regular type. Also a fridge and microwave would be nice in the standard rooms. Public areas in need of redecoration, especially the lift. No breakfast. No negatives. There was a very squeaky door in a room adjacent to ours which could have used some wd-40! We mentioned it to the staff the next day. Pool cold. Hallways weren't too clean most of the time. Parking was difficult. We expected to have a lake view, so we were a bit disappointed…. We found our room to be very warm even though we had turned the heat off completely. Rooms were very dated and needed refurbishing but excellent value for the cost. Needs soem updating. Bathrooms little small. Finding a parking space was difficult after a certain hour of the night. No spaces available when I left to gas up & came back :-(. Some areas looked old, but it appeared that repos were underway. Not enough towels and no sink plug. The cleaning service. Breakfast buffet- eggs were dryed out, waffle maker didn't work. No real problem. The hotel needed upgrading . . . ceiling tiles, soiled rugs, no pictures on walls, etc. Door was very heavy and didn't lock unless you made sure to pull hard when you left. A little dated no pay per view or premium channels. Rooms need updating. Could use some updating. Would have been nice if the Hotel Restaurant and bar were open. Pool area very outdated. Hotel needs some upgrades. Hot tub at pool side did not have whirlpool, only hot water. room was'nt ready till 4:00 pm. An odd smell in the room and poor shower system. Bathroom very small. dated decor. There was renovation occuring while we were there. They were pounding and using electrical tools first thing in the morning around 8:00am. Restaurant/cafe closed bar lounge and lake viewing area closed These should have been mentioned on website Since pool is unsupervised, why can't it remain open until 11 pm. Check-in was a nightmare! Room was not ready until almost 9pm. They did credit us $50 for the inconvenience. Room smelled musty and mildewy. Hotel restaurant was in the basement and not welcoming. (We never ate there.) No microwave in room, just small fridge. Staff was running behind on everything, both days. Room was not well prepared (for example In room coffee machine had not been restocked). Hotel was shabby. Staff was not very customer service oriented. The room felt small, cramped almost and old. It was a noisy place in the early morning.
