I had avery good experience at this hotel, I got in to the airport after 8pm however everything went smoothly. The shuttle bus picked me up from the airport minutes after calling( there is a handy airport hotel phone at baggage pickup) and dropped me off on time the next day. The room is spacious and safe(I am a female), at check-in the receptionist, on her own, put me on the 6th floor, and after a delicious room service meal and a good shower,I slept soundly on really a comfortable bed with pl.

First off those cookies we received at check-in were great. The close proximity to the airport. The shuttle driver and staff were very helpful, courteous and professional. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Reception staff on check in were very friendly and professional, checked us in very fast. Room was very nce and comfortable with nice bed and all the equipment in the room. Check in staff and breakfast room servers were efficient and friendly Room was spacious and comfortable Breakfast was good value for money. Everyone was very friendly and nice. There is not enough lighting to properly see the whole room at one time and the bedside lamps are rather weak.Please, all hotels put in a overhead light,it is a recurring theme. In my room there is one narrow window, not much light in the day. Driver of shuttle from airport to hotel was rude and impatient. This experience is one's first impression of the hotel so it is important to get this right. The next day a different driver took us to collect our rental at Avis. What a difference. He was helpful and friendly. When I got my bill Friday afternoon via email. There was a charge for 53.25 from the Derrick Saloon and I did not eat there. I called the Doubletree, but everyone I talked to said I had to talk to accounting. I called Accounting and their office was closed until after the holiday. Service at restaurant (dinner). 18 Dollars plus tax for a film our 7 year old daughter accidentally purchased. Explained to staff but still had to pay. no shops within walking distance. The service at the bar/ restaurant was very close to the worst that I've ever experienced!. Poor staff, not interested, not helpfull, minimum kindness. Noisie rooms. Mainly water flow in the tubes behind the walls in the room. We booked a room through letsbookhotel.com as a "deluxe economy" with an extra sofa but when we arrived the hotel informed us that this type of rooms do not exist. THe staff was very helpful and brought us an extra bed but there is something definately wrong with the booking system!. Nothing in particular. Parking could be better. Bar intent on closing early. Sinks in the bathroom were to low. Reception poorly organized with bookings. Quick to pass responsability to others including letsbookhotel.com and even faster to offer you a higher priced room !. Area declined over recent years, especially Greens Point Mall. Reservation was again poorly handled !. Hotel is showing it's age but beds are good!. The time it took to get room service. We waited nearly 2 hours for a meal that was cold! We now know why there wasa microwave in the room. Excuse was a problem with the computer that issued receipts! Staff with more initiative would have hand written a receipt. We perceived the hotel was understaffed. It is in need of rennovation (dull, washed out colours of decor and furniture, very poor lighting and aging plumbing) and overall quite depressing. Old decorating, moldy smell, long walk to room and loud resturant.
