Loved my stay at the Coconut Waikiki! This hotel is such a great deal for Waikiki and the location is perfect - right on the canal so a little quieter than being right on the main strip. Decor looks just like the hotel photos - fresh and modern. Very comfy beds, was sad to leave them. All the reviews about the canal side being noisy are accurate - if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs, but the air conditioning unit helps cancel out the sound at night. Go for a mountain view room for sure. S.
all reviews » I loved the cute decour, the room was well kept and clean. I know that people have made comments about the continental breakfast and so I was prepared for the worst but I honestly thought it was good. There may not be a lot of choice but it got me through the morning. Also considering that there was a kichenette in my room, I could always buy breakfast goods if I wanted more. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and I would stay here again. Close to lots of shopping and the beach. Eve. Great location! The daytime hotel clerks(all women) very nice and accommodating. All valets GREAT(Mike, Pete & Lester) Breakfast was adequate. More toasters and better fruit selection - it is Hawaii after all :-) They gave us a hospitality room to shower in before heading to airport! Concierge helpful and a nice service to have. Get the executive suite - you'll be happy you did. Lots of room. It was great experience, I loved my stay in the hotel very much. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. I got very big room with own kitchen. The room and bathrooms were very clean. Value for money is very good, not too far to the beach and main city center. I would definitely recommend this hotel for everyone, who would like to have a nice and comfortable stay and do not overpay for a hotel. It was because of their recommendation that our holiday continued without any disruption. The rooms are great. The bed is comfortable. The amenities are good. Only a couple blocks from the beach. Helpful staff, clean, tastefully-decorated rooms, quieter location on mountain side of Waikiki (which I prefer) yet close to restaurants and shops. Ty so much. very nice and friendly staff close to waikiki beach calm and quiet small but functional. Not a huge deal, but the room cleaning service was not very consistent - sometimes they came really early, other times too late, and the room cleaning was decent but just adequate. This is more of a suggestion then something I didn't like, but other hotels usually give an option of requesting that towels be reused and such so as to conserve energy, I would have liked that. The night manager wasn't very responsive to requests. The air conditioners could've been newer. Shampoo, soap and lotion not filled daily. Would recommend more variety of fruit. The only thing was parking, it was very hard to find a place to park, and I thought $26 for valet was to high. Nothing. The bathroom and shower could have been cleaner. Didn't seem like the shower was cleaned after the last tenants. Nothing in particular. Air conditioner was noisy. There wasn't enough breakfast to serve all the guests. Not a complaint, but Breakfast could go for a little longer in case you want to sleep in. Balcony doors could do with a bit of soundproofing, and quieter air conditioners. The breakfast was included in the price, but it was tempting to go to a restaurant and spend money. It was pretty pathetic. Bit noisy with traffic racing up and down the back road. The rooms were a little noisy as they were located adjacent to the canal. The air conditioners were a little old skool and noisy, having said that they drowned out the traffic!. Front desk did not have change for laundry or parking meters, for me and another guest that asked within 10 minutes of my request. Old elevator. Couldn't use the balcony at all cause of construction and no extras for not being able to use it. The room smelt like chlorine for the first day mainly the bathroom. Too much bleach I reckon. Remote for tv was simple and cheap. Air conditioning was very noisy and didn,t cool the room. Web site said there was a min fridge but therewas no mini fridge in our room. Breakfast ran out of some items by 9 am. Nothing. the noisy air con machine and noisy window, did not get much sleep. Very poor breakfast. We were traveling in a family of 7 - 3 rooms. all rooms were on a different floor. The "City View" looked directly into the windows of apartment homes. Awkward. Our room was very very small. No free shuttle service to airport or main attraction (Pearl Harbor). very small swimming pool - not for swimming. Not quite as stylish as the other joie de vivre hotels ive stayed in. Staff were mixed one very cold. The makeover didnt quite make it and features of the old hotel seemed to seep through, the rooms a bit small. The air con when switched on filled the room with a years old musty smell I couldnt use it. I dont know ... not quite somehow for the price. Extremely small room for the price. There is no parking lot. Might be over priced. No room service. Balcony door rattles and shakes at night. small pool poor breakfast range laundry service.
