  My husband and I reserved a room here after packing and moving up to Nevada City. We were pleasantly surprised at the warm, friendly reception we and our dog received upon arrival. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom was quite nice, and the setting was lovely. We will definitely recommend the Golden Chain as a lovely... what people say » , budget-friendly place to stay. - The staff went out of their way to help and even specially shopped for strawberry yoghurt. We asked for extra stuff such as pillows and they were very obliging.

  It was nice and clean, all that we used it for was a place to change clothes and sleep. - The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location close to Empire Mine and scenic trails on one side and shopping on the other is terrific. Nice hot shower!

  I liked that it was located near the fairgrounds where I was attending a festival. It was nice and clean. The staff was extra attentive, friendly and pleasant.. - Cool old style single level motel, clean and cost effective. Loved the kingsize four poster bed in the Honeymoon room.
