When I booked online the two-bedroom suite was the same price as the one- bedroom so I booked that and I'm glad I did! The hotel sent us to the wrong room at first, a one bedroom, which was a nice, standard hotel room, but when I called and told them their mistake they sent us to the right room, a huge, two bedroom, two bathroom suite, with glass walls on each side facing the beach. It was great! There was just my husband and I and but this would be the perfect room for a large family or a grou.
all reviews » The rooms were huge compared to most hotels. View of the Gulf was impressive. Location was convenient.I loved having two bathrooms. The privacy windows on the sleep area were attractive. The charming lady from Tennessee who ran the breakfast nook was super sweet and charming.Whole place smelled and looked new. Very impressive appearance of the building from outside. This was our second stay at south beach and we haven't found a single thing to complain about. The rooms are terrific and the staff have been great as well. We enjoy the feel of a small boutique hotel while having top notch condo style rooms, especially at such a terrific value. I'm sure that we will be back. location is super in that it;s on the beach but away from the casinos. Very clean...attentive staff...Helpful since we were attending the SB and had never been to the area. Plenty of food options in the area and facility is nice. Had 2 BR and it was perfect with older kids. We enjoyed the view from our room. We also enjoyed the fact that we had floor to ceiling windows on the beach side with a balcony on the partial beach view side. It is very conviently located and very friendly staff. Clean. Easy access. even the water handles on the bathroom sink are easy and clean. Has a nice outside balcony to sit on .. Front Desk, Very helpful.... Easy outside parking and 24 hour security... We loved everything so much that we are going to make this our annual vacation hotel. The staff was more than excellent and the accommodations are so nice that I wish we could live there. The staff was very friendly and helpful answered all my questions. Good location to go to New Orleans or golf port. Right on the beach. The casino down the road. Good restraunts near by. Though you are right on the beach the water there isn't the best for actually swimming. Coming from L.a I didn't know that the gulf coast water is a bit mucky from river-run off until further south. Sausage gravy at breakfast was a little odd tasting as were the artificial tasting scrambled eggs.Would have loved some bacon but maybe it was served on a different day. Would have enjoyed some waffles too. There was nothing that we did not like. The beach had alot of sea weed. None. Room wasn't serviced one day even though we were out of it from 2pm-10pm. Constant traffic noise, but that is not the fault of the hotel. The only issue was parking due to the hotel allowing non-hotel guest to use the small parking lot during the Scrapin' the Coast event, whih made it difficult for paying guest to find parking . The continental breakfast was horrible. The eggs were so bad we could not eat them. They ran out of muffins. Cereal was good. You need to add grits and oatmeal to your breakfast menu. I stayed at a Pear Tree Inn in Lafayette, LA. they had an awesome continental breakfast bar. They had delicious biscuits as well as everything you had except it was good. Maybe you should check it out. Livingroom furniture was so uncomfortable, had to sit in bedroom to watch tv. Bed was too soft; could hear sounds easily from upper room;. I did not like the fact that I had to leave so soon. There was only one available night that I could book. I needed a shower cap and I was told they didn't have one. Most hotels have shower caps. Liked everything about it. Our balcony view was of the street. Our view was spoilt by the sight of the "Shark" store - its quite an eyesore - I realise not much can be done about this perhaps a fence to divide the 2 properties. Not enough covered parking. The room didn't equate to the price. The only thing is that I had to keep asking for maid service and our ice maker and refrigerator did not work and I even called on multiple occasions and nothing was done about it & we were there for 4 days. Service was very poor---we had to ask daily for a towel and washcloth to clean up with. Several days our trash wasn't emptied, NEVER had dish soap or dish towel to clean kitchen with. Street noise, trace of mold in bathroom. pool not heated & only 62f. I did not like the difference in online price and regular price. I book for $119 online and tried to book again in the hotel and it cost $199. The radio/iPod dock didn't work, the hair dryer didn't work, while wiping up some spilled water on tile floor in the kitchen area, found the floor to be filthy. the distance from most of the casinos. Nothing bad to say AT ALL!. nothing. When we got to the room the tv was not working, but I called the front desk and someone came right up and was fixed in no time. Did not have phone in room No regulation of temperature in bedroom. Got very cold when door was closed. Parking. Needed a new mattress on the bed, that was my only complaint. I was a little disappointed by parking situation as I tend to prefer covered parking, etc. as opposed to being exposed outside of a property. The pillows Lack of laundry soAp went to a fluff n fold Clean vents in bath exhaust fan Filters changed? Please maintain lighting lamps out.
