We read a lot of reviews + researched a ton of surrounding places before booking + we got exactly what we were looking for with Big Bear Frontier...a luxurious, romantic getaway that was within our budget! We will be back! - I was by the pool and I thought that would be a problem with noise, but it wasn't. The room was nice, and the other guests we ran into were friendly. I liked the close proximity to the lake, I liked sitting out on my patio all day. Amy and Ryan were accommodating in making the situation better with the first room not having a patio.

  The receptionists Carla, Martha and Kailin, (I hope I spelled the latter's name correctly) were marvelous. So efficient on check-in and providing a cozy and yummy breakfast. Cosy. Warm enough. Convenient location, easy to find. The snowsummit resort is 5 minutes drive from the place; as well as the village (place with restaurants and shops, theatre).   My husband and I went up for our tenth anniversary. We loved our room! It was a little piece of heaven, we had a great time lounging in our inroom hot tub as well as sitting on the terrace in the morning drinking coffee. The room was very clean, and the staff made sure the towels were changed everyday as well as the sheets. The room was close to s... what people say » hopping as well as plenty of places to eat. The staff was always very friendly and eager to help when asked for anything. - We stayed in the cabin named Gretchen, it was very nice had a spa and a nice fireplace, the whole set-up of the cabin was very well designed. We will request this cabin from now on. We have stayed in 4 others rooms at the Black Forest, and never been disappointed. The staff is great.

  This is the third time we have stayed here. We stayed on the lake side on the upper floor for four days. We had a wonderful view of the lake. Since we went in October not many folks were there which we liked very much. We will stay her again when we come back to visit.   Room was as described. Very spacious and clean. Loved it had separate bedroom with its own fireplace. Perfect for us and our 3 year old. Front desk staff extremely nice. Location and price were great. I really wasnt expecting it to be so big with rooms separated by an entry room. Perfect to come back to after a long day of skiing to relax in roomy... what people say » comfort. Kitchen fully stocked with all tools needed to cook a great meal was a welcome surprise.   The front desk team were so nice and accommodating. One of the men, Rick, was so kind he helped me out of a very difficult problem and I was able to stay a second night there as I was stranded. They are tops in my book and there aren't many hotels in Big Bear Lake to choose from but based alone on the staff I highly recommend it.
