The inside and outside of the hotel are beautiful. Brick facade, with high ceilings, and dim lighting. Staff at the desk were very nice and helpful. Appliances are made for a more modern look which ties in interestingly with the vintage building. Free cappuccino/coffee maker available in the basement kitchen. Hotel is two blocks from a free bus route which takes you all the way from Mount Vernon to Federal Hill. Easily accessible to the Inner Harbor attractions. Neighborhood felt safe de.
all reviews » The staff was amazing, and it was a great location with comfortable beds. Breakfasts are included in a small, home-like kitchen. There are a total of about 6 parking places in streets right in front of the hotel, and maybe a couple more in the streets at the back, so as you can tell it is very limited. We arrived at around 4PM (it was also in the middle of memorial holiday), and there were plenty space to park. When we stroll back from dinner there was none left. I think it should be the best t. The Brexton Hotel is very attractive, clean and the staff is very helpful and accommodative. They really put their effort into making sure that our stay was positive. We were in Baltimore for my daughter's graduation from Johns Hopkins. My wife and I stayed in one room. My Mom stayed in the handicap room, which they offered to her as a courtesy when we checked-in. My sister-in-law stayed in two other rooms. Everyone was happy. The building is old and restored. The rooms are not large but they a. Beautiful building, friendly and helpful staff, walkable to Penn Station and (with the right shoes) Hopkins' Homewood campus. The free bus to the Inner Harbor is quite convenient. I had a ground-floor room, but it was delightfully quiet. I foolishly left an item of clothing in the closet, but the staff took the time to call, and they offered to ship it to me. I will stay there again. Decent enough neighborhood with excellent wine bar, decent restaurants, etc. Not in the crowded touristy mess that is Baltimore harbor, but, you can walk it from the Brexton. The hotel's connection to Wallis Warfield Simpson is highlighted. All in all, just a bit pricey for what is offered, but, for a night or two, not a bad value. This is one of the most comfortalble and more friendly hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything about it was excellent, from the welcome at the desk to the room itself. Exceptional!. I liked the restoration of the hotel and the vintage look of everything. It wasn't too difficult to find parking and the location was convenient to many things in the city. Staff was phenomenal!! The room itself was an incredible surprise: large, clean, chic. Loved it! We were expecting a smaller room. Did I mention how nice the staff were??. The room was large and very clean, with nice features (bedding/window treatments/toiletries--they were rather upscale.) Loved the high ceilings. Location was great. Staff were friendly. Large, clean room with sober but pleasant ambiance. The walls were thin to the point where you could hear water flushing above you or construction outside. A large fiji water in the room cost $8 to consume. The bed wasn't as large as expected, and the curtains didn't keep the daylight out very well if you wanted to sleep in. Parking was extremely limited, and not many rooms exist for occupancy. Parking is nearly nonexistent. There are five or six spaces reserved for hotel guests, but, with about 30 or 40 rooms, that's not nearly enough. Metered parking is free on weekends, but, you'll have to walk blocks to find a free spot. If driving, suggest you negotiate directly with the hotel in advance for a reserved spot; pay extra if need be. There was nothing I didn't like. Some parts of the neighborhood were rundown. The "full" continental breakfast was pretty uninspiring. Also, my key card never worked properly after the first day. The guest above us was very noisy around midnight but we were too tired to call the front desk. Not the hotel's fault. Shower stall was small, but did provide good water pressure. Finding a parking place was a little difficult. Parking in downtown is tough. We got a spot right across the street but were afraid to leave it or lose it. I'm short and it was difficult to reach the hangers in the closet. wish there was a mini fridge in the queen rooms, queen bed seemed a bit more like a double bed. For the amount of money spent, seems really rotten to charge for daily Internet. Parking - limited. We got in late and had to park on the street - and get up early to feed the meter. I missed a safe in the room. The shower door was wobbly. Not a big deal, just the only noticeable flaw. the cold temperature in the bathroom. Parking. Windows in rooms didn't open. Need fresh air in the rooms. TV was a bit slow to operate. -The first room they put us smelled terribly of mold. -We had to upgrade and pay extra to have a bed with a pull out couch for our child, but when I booked the room it was pictured with a pull-out. Hotel lost our parking space reservation and made no effort to remedy the error or compensate us. shabby furniture, dresser drawer didn't line up, banged up desk. Extra charge for Wi-fi. The bed was the only part I did not like. It was rock hard. Not to comfortable. The rest of the hotel and staff was great!. breakfast wasn't ready at 7 as expected but staff was very nice about getting it ready quickly. Staff is very very nice. Breakfast. Parking. Building is great and restoration fairly well done. Furniture pieces of lesser quality -- finishes buckling/deteriorated. Also parking is VERY limited and pay spots are $25. They charge a pet fee. Location was just okay. Slowest elevator I have ever witnessed. Small, room was smaller than I thought it would be. Overpriced. No lounge area. Pets: USD 50,- per night, which is the highest I encountered anywhere (NY, Chicago, Washington, Berlin, Paris, etc.). To stress my point: 4 days is USD 200!.
