My daughter and I were fortunate to get a room at the back of the hotel, which kept us from hearing any noises from other guests passing by our room. Location is literally accross the street from Disneyland/California Adventure, right by the front entrance, making it very easy to go back to your room and crash for quick nap before resuming your day at the park. You can also keep your car parked at the hotel after the 11:00 AM check out, in case you aren't through having fun yet. There is a fee .
all reviews » Location, location, location. You can't get much closer to the Disneyland entrance gates than this hotel. Also within easy walking distance of several restaurants. Nice rooms, pool is a big plus for the kids. Check out is at 11am but if you want to spend a last, full day at the park you can arrange to pay a parking fee and leave your car at the hotel. It is a buck less than parking at Disney and you don't have to spend precious morning time moving the car. For us it was a great convenienc. I liked that the staff was friendly. The location was perfect for our family with two little ones 8 and 6. How clean the hotel was and the cleaners do an excellent job cleaning as I watched them clean other rooms since I'm a clean freak myself. The older man in the store that worked was soooooo nice. So, to my last say I would recommend the hotel and we would stay their again. 1 more thing it was nice to have a laundry facility onsite that was a bonus... Thanks Tropicanna. It is right cross the Disney. We even walked out of disney to rest a while in our room. I got the best rate among all these hotels on Harbor blvd. The best location and the best rate. About amenities, it has microwave,fridge and the coffee maker. Like all the other hotels on Harbor blvd, they charge the parking fee, but it is understandable if the rate is cheap enough. Special thanks to the cleaning lady who found my earring, god bless her good heart. Unbelievable location if you're hitting up Disney. Certainly not luxurious but perfectly fine for everything you need. Comfy bed. Good cable tv. Aircon. Competent staff. Convenience store, washing facilities and coffee/fridge in room. Ok pool. 24hr reception. Transport to LAX and tours next door (5 metres away) at Best Western. Many food options close by and 24hrs. (Don't eat at Disney!). Fantastic location - directly across the road from the entrance to Disneyland with lots of restaurants close by. We arrived very early, having flown for 13hrs from Australia, and they very kindly arranged to get us into our room as early as possible (our room was available at 10am, when normal check-in was 4pm). My niece and I stayed at this hotel and we loved our time here. It is right in front of the entrance of Disneyland and next to McDonalds and Mimmis Cafe, which is a great place to eat if you do not want fast food. The pool is also great for relaxing, best of all its heated and it has a very big Jacuzzi. The room was spacious and included: combination tub/shower, sink, mirror, hair dryer, microwave, refrigerator, heater/ac, tv w/remote. Also in the complex was a 24 hour minimart. The front desk staff was cheerful and friendly as well as the parking attendant. Loved that it was extremely close walking distance to Disneyland. Very accommodating, especially with motorhome. Nice and friendly staff. Close walking distance to dining. Free WiFi and continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again. Better breakfasts. You offer continental breakfast but its merely croissants and donuts. There's no toast or eggs or bacon. And if u want cereal and milk it's extra. U offer breakfast as included but that's not breakfast, its junk food. Location was awesome! The hotel is directly across the street from the entrance to Disney Land, its approx a 5 min walk. There are restaurants within walking distance. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Would most definitely stay there again. The rooms were immaculately clean and had cleaning every day. The grounds were directly across from Disneyland made it easy to walk to and from Disneyland each day. Comfortable bedding. The price of the room was great as well. The friendly atmosphere, all the staff were so friendly and professional...we ate at the nearby Denny's and Tony Romas, who were also very friendly!! Mattress seemed like it had seen better days, but after tramping through theme parks all day, I managed to sleep well enough. The only one thing I didn't like was the laundry room. They should have more washers and dryers and updated machines. It was busy everytime I was in their and people would come in and I would say all taken.... The whole area - not just outside Tropicanna - feels unsafe late at night (past 11pm). There are homeless people and beggars all down Harbour Blvd. We were ok as adults but I wouldn't want my kids running around after 11pm. Don't let this deter you from Tropicanna, it's everywhwere and beyond their control. (They have security on site). Staff were friendly and tried to help as much as they could, but I found that they didn't know much about things to do, best public transport to use etc. No complaints. Would have preferred a tub/ shower especially with small children. Didn't appreciate house keeping turning off air conditioner while we were gone all day. Room was hot when we came back in evening. I had to pay $9.00 per day for parking as a guest. I had booked a room for 5. Was charged for 5 but got a room with 2 queen beds and had to pay extra for a role a way bed. No shuttles to shopping centers. I attempted to get help from reception how to get to these places and they weren't very helpful. I was left to figure it out on my own. Can't think of anything negative. The kids would have liked to have more to choose from for breakfast, for example, waffles and/or cereal... Nothing. The parking. When I registered, I was not given (unknownst to me at the time) a parking permit. The next morning on my car windshield, I received a "friendly notice" that I was not permitted to park there ....especially since I had to pay for parking. Also that there was no complimentary WiFi. homeless living in the bus stop at entrance to disneyland. I didn't have a big trouble, however, a refrigerator was a small and a freezer inside it didn't work enough to freeze a water bottle. Had to pay for WiFi and the connection was terrible. Shortage of parking the first night but we didn't have a problem after that. bed mattresses a bit lumpy. No complaints. All perfect. The breakfast is bad We couldn't eat any thing No safety box in the room. The hotel charged my credit card twice for parking fees. Staff were ambivalent. No bathroom in lobby, had to wait in line for single stall bathroom across from lobby, not enough variety at "free" breakfast and had to pay for cereal or bagels. Room was a little bit small. No soap/toiletries shelf in shower Insufficient counter space in bathroom No hooks/shelves something other than toilet to put clothes/toiletries Loud air conditioner w/air blowing directly onto nearest bed Luggage placed in wrong room when we changed rooms. Bathroom needs updating, not even a soap dish. Air Conditioner is very loud which makes sleeping a little difficult on hot Californian nights. I was disappointed in the continental breakfast. I don't remember having to pay for cereal the last time I visited. I would like to have more healthy conscious food available. Although complimentary, the breakfast coffee and pastries were not worthy of bothering with. Paying for parking, should be included. The continental breakfast was very poor. I did not like having to pay for cereal and milk. We payed extra for an extra cot in our room that was so uncomfortable that my daughter preferred to sleep on the floor the last two nights than to sleep on the cot. What a waste of money. The bathroom. It would be more convenient if the vanity was in with the tub as a whole bathroom. If you are not going to Disneyland (kids decided that it was too expensive, but too late to rebook), you're paying a premium to stay here. although i had no parking issue, there is only 1 reserved handicap parking spot for the entire facility... The parking fees here and all the nearby hotels are such a rip-off. Most everyone drives to this place. Not enough parking. Did not like the fact that I had to use Valet Parking, although I had rented two rooms for a second family traveling with us. -Unusual smell when we first checked into the room; dissipated after using the AC for a while. -TV channel listing in the room binder was not accurate. Would have liked a discount for a 10 night stay :). Disappointing breakfast room and choice of food.
