What people say
What a delicious, quirky, hidden find! An absolute gem of an apartment - in all it's medieval wonkiness - half timbered wonky walls, uneven floors, tucked away down an alleyway behind the Trembling Madness pub - well, after all, the buildings do date from about 1650! Charming bedroom with luxury bath and dark wood four poster bed and all the appointments you could ask for including flat screen telly mounted on wall of bedroom and another in the living room plus a Playstation for the kids or t. all reviews »
Location was central only yards from York Minster. Staff were extremely helpful and it was excellent. Would certainly recommend. We had a fantastic time and are definitely going back. The owners are brilliant and went out if their way to help and friendly. 10 out of 10 from me.
warm friendly staff who where happy to help. Lovely historical appartment, bijou but cosy. We had a ball and will be back. A bit of me does not want to give it any recommendation as I am sure it will be booked away in advance and we will find it harder to book.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Gallery. Excellent location, quirky interior decor and top if the range facilities such as Sky+ and Bose docking station.
Ian & his team provide a truly unique place to stay at a very competitive price.
Location was ideal, all local amenities close by and easy to get to all the local attractions. The apartment had superb facilities and was very much worth the money. Would definitely stay here again and aim to do so in the future.
Amazing location, very funky decor, with real attention to detail. the appartment was very well equipped with lots to do inside and out and about, a very special home from home, our 17yr old wanted to live there (so did we).
Amazing location, Trembling Madness staff very helpful, great
decor, very functional kitchen (don't be fooled by its size),
very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again next time I go
back to York!.
Beautiful apartment, a great quirky place to stay right in the heart of York. Couldn't fault the place, everything you could need.
Location was amazing , apartment was unusual and well equipped.
Great location, comfortable accommodation, well equipped.
The Location is first class right in the hub of York.
very well appointed and clean. Central and very convenient for city walks.
We were a party of 2 adults, plus 1 adult child & 1 teenager. Our girls had to share the sofa bed, which was small for the two of them, but this was made clear in the ad and was our choice. Sofa bed would be fine for 2 kids or 2 adults in a relationship - not squabbling sisters - and would not stop us from returning.
would have liked a bathroom with shower but there is nowhere to put one so bathing in bath in bedroom was fine amongst ladies.
Bathroom was very cold & towel rail not working.
A little loud at times due to nearby bar. But for the central location that's to be expected.
In some areas the cleaning left a lot to be desired and the bed settee
could not fully extend.
The bathroom, didnt have an anti slip mat in the bath and my wife had quite a nasty fall and was badly bruised. In saying that, when I mentioned this to Rob, he was very apolgetic and installed a matt within an hour or so.
no one to help us find the place and to locate pre-booked parking.
first floor bedroom is not a room really. sloping roof is far too low for comfort.
Ground floor has only one small window at the back which is openable. Had to leave front door open due to hot weather.
