stayed at the windsor hotel on valentines day and we had a fantastic four poster bed in our room . the bathroom was really nice and the staff were great . the private enclosed car park was a great bonus . breakfast was not your usual buffet , the staff took our order and served up a really nice cooked breakfast . overall our stay was faltless. We were able to stay with our dog. The room and bathroom were exceptionally large and kept clean. The food was really good with a nice variety of dishes. I can't think of anything bad to say about our stay at the Windso Hotel.

The hotel staff were generally vey pleasant and the food service also very good however the details outlined spoilt our overall enjoyement of the hotel dring our stay. Some of the carpets in the hallways are warn and need replacing. only one problem, and not the hotel's fault, is the nightlife at the weekend. It can be very noisy if you have your windows open.Limited number of parking spaces in car park. Had to park in street. Bedrooms need updating and upstairs public areas - bit grotty now. As a warning it's on the strip so any rooms at the front can be a little loud but we were moved as soon as we mentiond it. The noise from,across the street [three bars directly opposite] was dreadful. It quite spoilt the experience. My wife and I were kept awake until 2am the first night. On the second night, the weather was inclement. It kept the worst of the revellers indoors. Even so, the din was still quite audible in our room until after midnight.Bar needs a make over. strong food smell throughout the entire hotel ,bit much. The breakfast was poor.the noise from outside until 3.30am. Night Porter very slow answering bell to admit gusts after midnight. Nothing major but my room was very warm even with the windows open. breakfast service, it was very busy and staff were strugglin. Sunday breakfast service was poor . Cold tea,coffee, ran out of tea bags and juice. Breakfast forgotten by kitchen and arrived after 40 mins, poorly cooked. No internet in the rooms.Poor selection of draught beers. No real ale - v. disappointing. We arrived for breakfast at 9.40 and the waitress told us we were too late. It clearly stated 9.45 that breakfast finished. After a fuss they agreed we could have it, and it was worth the fuss. But we were made to feel like it was a favor to us, and as I said, we were on time. A bit off I thought.The lager was terrible good price but not a nice drink at all. no iron in room. and the iron that was available was poor. Environment quite noise due to clubs in vicinity. Couldn't book in until 13.00, no drying facilities. Room too hot - smell of cigarettes - common areas leading to the room need updating. poor noise insulation of the room , ie noisy corridor and room above. The hotel booked a private party on Easter Sunday and we didn't have any warning prior to the party. This resulted in us struggling to find somewhere else to spend our afternoon. We had no access to the bar and this despite us making arrangements with otehr staying in the hotel to spend the afternoon in the hotel. There was a alck of hot water throguhout the weekend.

For groups of 5 guests or more, The Windsor Hotel will require security deposits from each guest. These will not be refunded if there is any damage to the hotel. A maximum of 4 rooms are permitted per reservation. The price for a Full English breakfast includes full access to the continental buffet.

By car from Newcastle:
- Follow the A1058 east (Coast Road).
- Continue through the roundabout onto Beach Road (A1058).
- Turn left at the roundabout onto The Broadway.
- Continue onto Marden Road, through a roundabout until the end of the road.
- Turn right then take the 1st left onto Park Avenue.
- Follow road round to the right to its end.
- Turn right onto Promenade and bear left onto South Parade, where you will find the hotel.

By car from the A19 motorway:
- Exit onto the A186 signed Whitley Bay.
- At the roundabout exit onto the A192.
- At the next roundabout exit onto the A1148 (Monkseaton Drive).
- Continue till end of road then turn right onto The Links.
- Continue onto the Promenade and turn right onto South Parade, where you will find the hotel.

The Windsor Hotel is just a 5 minute drive from the International Ferry Terminal.
