The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was excellent, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We had a problem with our car on the morning we were due to leave and the staff could not do enough to help out and find assistance for us to get the car started. the room was very large and conmfortable with a lovely sea view. freindly helpfull staff fantastic room and breakfasts.

Right in the middle of the night life and close to royal quays marinafrom which we were diving. the stafff was very friendly and helpful and it was in the right place for all the pubs. Very comfortable hotel, would have liked sea views from rooms. Wasn't there long enough to comment. Only stayed overnight. Friendly staff. The hotel sits right on the sea front so you could not want for a better position. One side also faces the main drag of Whitley Bay where the busiest bars are. A Mecca for 2 for 1 drinks. You only have to cross the road. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are very basic but don't expect any home comforts like remote control for the telly. Many are inward facing. Try and get a sea view. The view from reception was really nice. Full english breakfast included in the price was excellent value for money. Very close to the coast line. 5 minutes walk from the town centre. 2 minutes from the main entertainment. friendly staff , good breakfast and evening meals. love the size of the room but needed updating badly. staff were excellent. On our Saturday night stay the noise from the adjoining nightclub continued until 3.00 a.m. and vibrated through the floor.Thenightclub below made it v noisy until 0230. Noise from disco till 3 am. Smoking room allocated as requested but no ash tray provided. Only one coffee drink in room. noisy night club underneath. hotel could do with some modernisation. The noise from the nightclub downstairs. noisy weekend. Old looking blanket on bed. Bathroom in need of update. Fish atbreakfast pre-cooked, sat on hotplate for long period, consequently over-cooked, unappitising and dominating smell throughout the hotel. Mostfood, breakfast and dinner was over-cooked. Use of frozen vegatables atdinner, very disapointing. Room was way too hot.room had mould growing in bathroom towel rail missing,wall poorly filled in dirty windows + blood on lightfitting bulb missing,tv didn't work. Old style fasion of house. the fact that there was no toilet paper in the toilet in my room.... Bathroom (required a repaint / refurb). The bathroom wasn't particularly clean. The cleanliness of the hotel was adequate, but the Hotel Inspector would not pass the mould growing in the shower and arouud the sink taps could have done with a good scrub. Cleanliness should be paramount within bathroom facilities and it did put me off. It took far too long to wait for breakfast about 1 hour. Waited 1 hour for breakfast and bar not open till 5pm, lift ancient. The tv didnt work. The walls are paper thin so you can here everything happening next door/above etc. Nightclub noise is sometimes unbearable due to high bass level shaking the floor if you're only on the first floor. For the money what do you expect? It's cheap and cheerful but would probably cost too much to refurb the place. the hotel porter just gave us directions to room which was:-up the stair turn right through doors 10 metre turn left then left etc. We had to ask three times. It would have been better to be shown. Also once away from reception paintwork/decorating had a lot to be desired. Was very warm in the dining room. The bathrooms require upgrading especially the showers. Given wrong room on arrival, asked for smoking. Transferred room without any problem but the room had not been cleaned properly and the bed was extremely uncomfortable due to base being broken and the spring on the mattress were virtually non exsitent. Hot tap and bath tap ran continuously but not noisy or annoying.Toilet did not fill after every flush for a long time, smoke alarm did not work,. Decor tired. my room was minute! facilities a bit basic - i had no shower. SHOWER NOT MAINTAINED TO DECENT STANDARD. The bath room was not clean, no hot water for the shower, no hand set for the TV. slow service in restaurant. Beds could have been more comfortable, I found 1 out of 3, bathroom and bedrooms could do with some work.

Please note that the on-site nightclub is open Wednesday to Saturday from 22:00 to 03:00, and on Sundays during Bank Holiday weekends. During these times, loud music may be heard in the hotel. the restaurant is only open for evening meals Monday to Wednesday and for Sunday Lunch. It is not open at any other time.
