What people say

The hospitality was welcoming and efficient. The rooms were a little eccentric, mismatched furniture and headboards concealing lightswitches - swish this place is not. But is it quintessentially English with an Agatha Christie feel, all old oak etc. It is charming with lots of character. A very hot night, reception immediately offered my elderly parents a fan. Breakfast magnificant!.
all reviews The friendliness and cooperation of all members of staff. It was a change to stay in a hotel and room with character and not a "modern square box." We have already recommended the hotel to friends who, we found out later, were staying at the nearby Premier Lodge Hotel. We regularly attend functions/reunions at RAF Halton.it was very friendly. The quality and standard of service was fantastic, what more can we say, my husband and I realy enjoyed the whole experience. The hotel looked lovely from outside .plenty or parking spaces .Staff very friendly .I found the staff very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very comfortable.Excellent breakfast, good staff and central location. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable and pleasantly "old fashioned" with a modern twist. Bed very comfortable.Good bar snacks and very good choice of breakfast menu. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the heart of the town and is a good base for touring the arae. very helpfull nice staff, ample car parking, good position, good food well priced great breakfast choice. Its history and Location in Tring was helpfull in that we needed to be close to Halton.Great Location For Arts Educational School, Tring. friendliness of the staff. The breakfast is superb!. breakfast excellent. Location. The food was very good and the hotel was ideally situated for what we needed.Very comfortable and pleasing. Staff were excellent.breakfast. It was on the doorstep of tring academy the service could have been alot better couldn't get served eveing meals because they had parties onhad to dine outside.Functional and convenient location. Staff very helpful and friendly.Location to my work site. I liked the breakfast. Very pleasant staff on duty at breakfast.continental breakfast good. The breakfast. Staff were very nice.It was in need of a refurb. Carpets looked a little jaded but everywhere was clean and all personell were so friendly, particularly in the bar area. there was nothing we didnt like except there wasnt enough milk and tea and coffee only enough to have one cup in the evening and couldnt have one in the morning before breakfast as there wasnt enough milk apart from that everything was good. Breakfast finishing at 9.30 am is too early for visitors who are on holiday.10am would be a better finishing time. Shower not great, noise from boiler room all night. The shower was not very good. Bathroom door banged against the toilet every time you opened it. Could do with a bit more room or a door stop !. double bed was small ,wine in the bar very expensive.we were lucky that two of our group were given ground floor rooms but we were not asked if they were required inb this case they were. there is still a need for hand rails for the elderly when they need to go up a step in the hallway, then the bathroom paintwork could of been cleaner. The breakfast was great and all of the staff were very pleaseant and helpfull.Overall it was a good hotel and I would stay there again. Just a small pont. There was a wedding on during our stay. Although alternative restaurant facilities were made available and staff went out of their way to ensure we were informed of this, at no time were we told the bar was not available from 2p.m. for rest of the day.We had a smoking room but feel that room could have been better ventilated. One or two lights in the room was not working. Bathroom did not have ashower. The fan in the bath room was not working. Resturant closing at9.00 pm was a bit too early for travellers. They poor. internet connection was not one of the most secure and the sirloin served to 2 of us for dinner was ver. The service by the waiting staff. They overlooked my first morning wake up call. An extractor fan wasoperating outside my room all night. Breakfast witing staff were notvery alert - served coffee not tea.The room was small, the double bed was small with a hard plastic sheet that russled alot and the shower was poor and the television was very old and difficult to adjust was dissapointed when first entered room compared to lobby and resturant quality. When booking into the hotel the receptionist only had one room booked onto the system, when we had booked two. She was euporean and it was very difficult to understand, she was constantly answering the phone inbetween trying to sort out the mix uo in the room booking. Which was the hotel fault and not letsbookhotel.com or ours.Hotel, very tired in need of refurb. Bedroom carpets worn threadbare. The restaurant food. The first thing you notice is the 'musty' smell when entering theaccomodation area. Our bathromm floor was filthy with a sort of chewinggum scum on it. The (double) room was tiny. It should have been a singleroom. The carpet was worn and scruffy. Furniture was old and damaged.
