Set in the idyllic Hertfordshire countryside, Champneys Tring health resort has modern rooms in a classic English stately home. Guests are offered free use of the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and exercise classes from 17:00 until 10:00 every day. Opened as a health spa in 1925, rooms are surrounded by history and character but retain modern features. A flat-screen TV, DVD player and a full private bathroom are included in each room. Many bedrooms also have a private terrace or balcony looking out across the 170 acres of beautiful parkland. This Rothschild Mansion has a range of exclusive treatments, including Carita facials and Kriotherapy. Guests can also take part in fitness classes and yoga and pilates sessions. Champneys Tring is just a 20-minute drive from the M25 and M1 motorways, 5 minutes’ car journey from the market town of Tring.

The profesional treatments, I had sportsmassage and acupuncure. The food was perfect, delicious and nutritiv, well balanced.I just wish we could have joined a cooking class, to learn to make the sallads at home. The facility's were fab and relaxing we had a lovely time I would go back if the rooms where updated.

Spa facilities Stately home rooms - games room, music room, drawing room, cafe. relaxing atmosphere treatments and classes food lovely facilities. I thought the large jacuzzi outside was quite heavenly. Beautiful room, lovely surroundings. Amazing upgrade!. Overall experience was fantastic, food excellent!!. The location and the relaxed atmosphere. Food is fantastic. Our double bed was two signals pushed together for the money I don't expect this and was reminded very much off a cheap Spanish hoilday rooms need make overs they are very plain dull. Staff - service levels were mixed overall. Check-in staff poor We requested 'twin beds' prior to check-in, so were disappointed when we arrived and a 'double' bed had been set-up. the fact that the sauna/steam room was not next to the swimming pool. It would have been nice if there had been some ordinary tea and milk in the room, not just specialty teas. Despite emailing a few times before my stay I didn't receive a response at all. It took 30+ mins to anyone to answer the phone despite trying all the numbers in the booking email. We ended up having to speak to the HR office. Staff not very welcoming on arrival (our wedding night) and seemed unimpressed we were down quite late for breakfast in the morning. Still had a lovely time though. Rooms were too hot, during the hot weather I would have liked air conditioning. Banging hotel doors late at night. Beds could be better.
