A very nice hotel, with friendly and very helpful staff. The room was large and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We called in early in the morning and as our room was ready we were allowed to book in straight away rather than waiting until the afternoon which was very helpful. 1.ease of parking 2..in our case large room 3.good pool facilities 4.attenttive admin, resturant & bar staff 5.excelant quality and stanard of food & presentation 6. Location in relation to the town.
all reviews » Comfortable bedroom, generally pleasant ambience. Good buffet breakfast. We attended sw Coast Path agm and didn't use any of the leisure facilities. The larger bedrooms, more hanging and drawer space, excellent food, variety of lounge rooms, choice of leisure activities. View from room. Gardens, flowers were lovely. Friendly staff. Very comfortable Something for every one. Location is very good. The pool is nice and clean.Beautiful garden at rear. I like the layout and the 4 hotel complex. Various bars and seating areas. Great friendly staff. lovely large room with a big window overlooking the gardens and down to the sea good breakfast - and being topped up constantly which made everything fresh staff made room available before official check in time [ as we needed to change for an event] warm - it was chilly for May but the heating had been left on fluffy pillows [ and lots of them]. It was/is geographically convenient for the Riviera Convention Centre almost directly across the road. It is nothing special, just a large B and B style holiday destination hotel. Good coffee at breakfast and the choice of food ok. The family room was spacious. The pool and sauna. The hotel was more or less full so parking was a little difficult, but we just about managed to get a space. Very little - 1. However we felt the general decor in communial areas appeared a little 'worn'. We ate out because we did not want a four course meal in the evenings. Albert's Bar looked dingy and unattractive, so we went elsewhere. Entertainment starting too late maybe 9 or 9.30pm would have suited better. Had to order the full meal, would prefer just main course. Corridor to the swimming pool advert for Newport Abbot race course last years programme. The pool is not in the hotel You need to walk and go trough another hotel. Breakfast very poor no fruits no pastries. They don't even have espresso coffee. No AC in the room. My bed had a baby protection , hasn't been changed from before. Poor shower facility, water pressure zero when others in use.Not easy to get in & out of the bath to access shower.One window unable to close. The bar closing at 1400 and there wasn't another on site. No fridge in room. No shampoo. Parking was difficult. Dance floors closed. Lack of fresh fruit at breakfast. Young families crowding facilities, parking problems, noisy entertainment in room below bedroom. Refusal by cheff to serve dinner at 8pm although the dining room was not full . No lifts. Nothing. Car parking can be a problem. Not all rooms accessible by lift. hard bed!. Limited range of breakfast buffet food. Loads of fried eggs "sunny side" only. Loads of rashers, kept warm on the serving area. When were they cooked? etc, etc, etc, enough for me!. swimming pool not very good for swimming - more for leisure! bedroom although generally clean was very dated and tired looking - chipped enamel bath, towels were very worn, watermark on wall light, dralon bed head needs replacing, carpet worn. i did not think that the room was cleaned properly every day. - Breakfast - Size and design of the room a bit old fashion. Bed was hard, noisy late evenings. Noise from outside especially seagulls roosting as no nets were up as in Victoria hotel next door, very disturbed night. Unclean towel. Non matching toilet/seat looked mocked-together and unsightly. The bathroom had not been cleaned, the waste bin was full with an empty pill packet on the floor. The towels were wet. The menu for the restaurant was limited and there was no room service menu in the room. The room was not laundered during the day and room service tray was not collected. It took 30 minutes to find a parking space in the hotel carparks. The floor of our room was not clean. The bathroom, though clean, was very dated and tired. The public areas of the hotel are similarly tired and odorous in places. Hotel looked nothing like the photo,did not get a double bed instead got two single pushed tohether the hotel very old needs up dating.
