Very helpful reception staff including the duty manager Thomaz I think? Helped us to our room as we had to carry our sleeping child. Was very helpful on the phone and friendly and nothing was too much trouble!! Also lady in the morning on the reception was helpful and lady at breakfast helpful and friendly towards us and our son. And best omelette ever eaten!!!. Excellent staff, I was alone with my 2 yr old boy and felt very looked after. The staff were extremely helpful and always willing to give little man a smile and a little chat. Will def stay again. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay. And excellent black out curtains little man slept in until 8:30 I haven't had a lie in like that for a long long time!! : ).
all reviews » Just loved the hotel! It was brand new, very clean my kind of place. I was very happy. Staff were very polite and knew what they were doing and very helpful. Booked for 9 other friends who were very impressed with my choice of hotel. They will definitely consider for their own future bookings. Room was good size, nice bed, quite luxurious. All I could want in a hotel room. Breakfast was excellent. Notwithstanding the criticisms, it was excellent value. Gym on top floor was a nice facility. Adjusting a broken lamp caused room lights to fuse, but they were fixed promptly and efficiently. Excellent staff, extremely obliging. They gave us an upgrade to large family room with great views of the Southend Pier. The location was fantastic too with the pier and amusements directly in front and lots of shops directly behind. Arrived late at night after a long drive, very speedy check-in at reception. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and had all facilities needed. Breakfast was included in our booking which was good, great views from restaurant. Absolutely everything! The staff are so helpful, the facilities, the food excellent ,the room was first class and the view was outstanding!! Will definitely be returning. I liked the park inn because it was relaxing peaceful and clean. I booked a room to get my coursework done somewhere quiet and the park inn was perfect for that. it was a excellent large room with a super kingsize bed, staff were very nice, all you needed was directly out side , i.e shops and beach just across the roead. Excellent location by sea & shopping. Clean. Great shower. Great breakfast. A/C. Free WiFi. If I come back to Southend-On-Sea I'd happily stay here again. The family room (shared with elderly mother) was spacious and confortable; the buffet breakfast was superb; bright restaurant overlooking beach. The staff were very professional and nothing was too much to ask. Although we didn't have a sea view the room was bright, comfortable and clean. The hotel was generally good but not outstanding, considering the fairly high price of the stay even with discount. the breakfast was good but the scrambled eggs were cold as I was eating them.the sausages could have done with a few more minutes cooking too. The bathroom was disappointing as the loo seat was loose,the toilet roll holder was very loose,the shower holder was also loose and the extractor was not working when the light was turned on so it steamed up very quickly. £40 extra charge for sea view (come on, the hotel is on the sea front, why wouldnt guests want to face the sea, seems bit silly) double duvet for kingsize bed??. price,bed needed 2 more pillows not cushions,t.v didnt show a tv guide so no idea what program was showing.bed side drawers would have been nice,no idea how to work air conditioning,door keycards stopped working and not told to renew them,better directions to breakfast would have been nice,breakfast needed better cooked sausages and crispy bacon,toast was either too well done or not enough so a second toaster would be better,. The bathroom was very small, the walls were marked and there were parts that had had filler in them but not been sanded down or painted over. The view of the shopping center Car park was also appalling and I felt that I got a crap room because my booking was last minute. Also, if check out is at 12, why can you only have breakfast until 10?. nothing all was just pretty much perfect. Would've liked extra pillows. Nothing at all!. Nothing we didn't like. Bed was too firm, not enough pillows. Beds were a little hard and had to pay for parking in car park opposite hotel. The car parking is far too expensive, when we stay at other hotels the parking is free. This is the only issue that lets Park Inn down, it can be very expensive to park in the car park across the road, especially if spending the next day in Southend. Bed clothes not large enough for bed provided. Bed was hard and somewhat uncomfortable. Was quite expensive. No water in rooms, always handy to have bottles of water in room!. There were no draws or wardrobes which was bad,plenty of space in rooms for fitted wardrobes etc for most people this is a must have ,it would make life easier for staff to clean rooms if people were able to house there clothing and not have their undies on show for all to see, please do something about this as this is a big let down for you, otherwise a great hotel. Cannot fault the hotel or staff on anything. The windows were very dirty and spoiled the great view. Only one pillow per person so had to ask for extra pillow soap/shampoo in shower. Everything was great :). Could have used a welcome pack that explained how to activate and connect to the WiFi, had to ask at the front desk, was given a scrappy bit of paper with username and password, all seemed to be a bit of an afterthought. The food in the restaurant was not very good, some over cooked and we waited til way past starters just to get a drink. The staff were very friendly but we didnt enjoy dinner. Thought it just a little expensive at £98 a night which did not include breakfast. But then single people in a double room always pay a premium. There was no bath :(. The pillows were awful and we had to request more The way they take a payment from you is confusing The toilet paper provided was of a shockingly low quality for rooms that cost £100 a night Upon arrival as part of a gay couple we were quizzed about whether we were sisters or if it was a birthday treat. I found this unnecessary and a little rude. The breakfast buffet let the package down - bacon over cooked, hash browns tastless. Not happy about paying for the car park, guests parking should be provided for. The only one thing was there was only one pillow per adult and these were exceptionally thin, I woke up with a neck ache and had to use folded towels the following night. The cleaner banging on the door in the morning and waking us up. Also, the fact we had to check out @ 12pm. The prices at the bar are unacceptably horrendous. We only had 1 drink and left the hotel and had a drink out. £9.80 for 2 malibus is discusting. No bath in hotel room only shower. Sofa bed could have done with an update.
