Room has everything required for an overnight stay. The fire alarms and precauitons wrok - see below!!. Extremely polite staff. Lovely room. Very good breakfast with prompt waitress service. Lovely decor in room. Cosy atmosphere.the bedroom was extremely well de orated and equipped. It had been tastefully refurbished and redorated to high standards. The mirror was not covered in condensation when I got out the shower... was a nice touch. Shower was very nice also.Staff were very nice and helpful. Great breakfast with real care. Yorkshire tea too!. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The staff were all friendly and helpfull. Peace and quiet. The location. It was very convenient to Royal Hallamshire Hospital where my wife was receiving treatment, the hotel met my needs for those circumstances.Good value. Clean throughout and decor that is reasonably new. Breakfasts of good standard. Helpful staff. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and quitespecial. The food is good.Lovely room with little touches that made it better than average. friendly reception staff on arrival and good food in the evening. Very comfortable, accomodating of any needs. the staff were very friendly and pleasant. good service, clean comfortable rooms. meals were good. nice and quiet. friendly. We had quiet and considerate wedding guests - in previous hotels and this one they have often been noisy and disruptive of the rest of the hotel. Staff are friendly and the refurbishment causes us amusement! It's probably not meant to. stayed there to attend a works party so the choice of hotel was determined by this more than any other reason. food was decent and ambience of the whole hotel was good. Conveniently located to University of Sheffield and on bus route to city centre. Having a kettle and choice of teas and coffee and a little sweet treat!. the room was very clean, the bed very comfortable i only stayed one nite i will be staying again in a few months time. the large room and great choice of breakfasts, the waitresses at breakfast were very friendly. Lovely room and bathroom, friendly staff.Pleasant ambiance and good public areas. The cooked breakfast was delicious. your decoration. The room was clean and stylish. The staff were friendly and efficient.easy to access town centre and parking. nice rooms, friendly reception staff. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Meal service. Food was of a high standard and very well presented. Good size and well appointed room.(executive double). The wedding function in the bar meant it was off-limits for residents, but an upstairs dining room was available - the alternative of a bar/lounge would have been preferable, but at least food was available. Theviewing charges for the tv were unclear - was not sure if the bbcchannels were chargeable, or if it was only films etc that had a charge,so a notice clarifying this would be useful. Room was small but it was only me and it had every thing I needed. you have to go down a flight of stairs to the bar and for meals. bar prices high. AC in bedroom noisy. see above. + it was after I had settled the bill that I learnt you have special rates for those visiting students at university. I'll know next time. The hotel needs to be clear about its smoking policy as one of the guests set off the fire alarm at 3.00 am smoking in one of the corridors. He then wnet on to do the same again at 6.00 am following which the alarm then developed a fault and we were treated to the alerm going off several times again during the early morning and breakfast - hence a few disgruntled guests!!. I was recommended the house red wine and it was terrible!. We were charged for listening to an album of music, which you could not skip tracks on, you literally had to listen through every song in turn. The stay was excellent and the room was delightful. The loo had been used when we got to the room and the cups not washed properly but apart from those two things it was very clean. No hot water in shower. Nothing really except they could put water in all the rooms instead of just the executive ones. I'm being pedantic now, but the bed was to hard. No Shower caps. The single bed was too short. Bathrooms in wet room style but not really well designed so a bit of flooding. The beds are a bit hard.A slight problem with parking caused by a wedding party - may not be the norm. curt and unfriendly staff at breakfast and breakfast not great. Shower in room was a bit dodgy!. It was quite difficult to find the room and no one offered to show us - we lost our way several times and it wasn't enjoyable to have to go up and down all the stairs with a heavy suitcase! The room itself had obviously been refurbished at considerable expense, yet the lighting was awful. Several other people in our wedding party said the same - no natural or decent elect light to put on makeup. room was too hot. the heating control in the room was not fantastic. You couldn't fill the kettle properly under the tap - you had to use a mug to fill it up!! Design error!! Not much to moan about. the shower is was more of a "wet room" with a large overhead shower head. fine , but no shower cap available so one's got wet hair if you wanted it or not. Wireless should be free or a nominal fee. There should be an option for the use of brighter lighting in the room. The lighting effect is soothing but a little frustrating if trying to do any paperwork. only the fact i could not get to sleep because of a noisy radiator in the room below me but receiption did sort it out after i rang them. evening reception member of staff was miserable and unhelpfull, but daytime staff on check in were lovely. Room was very hot!. Strange mural on our bedroom wall. Didn't like drinking out of a black mug with a spoon in it at breakfast, would have prefered a cup and saucer. In summary an unusual mix of old and new. Only one bad thing, we arrived back at 2am Saturday morning and the reception desk was not staffed, we had to go behind the desk to get our keys, not very good for security.it's very nice. The hotel room was dark, there was a small window and there wasnt enough lighting. The room was uncomfortably hot, when I contacted reception they provided a small fan but it didn't make a lot of difference. corridor lights shine through underneath the bedroom door disturbing slumber. Bed was very hard. slightly grumpy room service staff. Very limited space in bedroom and bathroom - OK for an overnight stay but not for any longer. The single room was hot and using the noisy air con was irritating. The "wet room" idea is good but there was no shaver point. Very small room with double bed - asked for a single room. This room would have been better with a single bed - very claustraphobic!. I am partially disabled and found the "ups and downs" of stairs fairly difficult to deal with. Limited parking. The new'wet room' style shower was highly impractical, creating a tollally soaked floor outside the shower area where there was no drainage available. This meant that after a shower you needed boots to use the sink or mirror! Staff commented how difficult it was to to clean up. Also your windows were very dirty both inside and out and your customers are writing messages to you in the dirt!.
