Very friendly and helpful staff overall. Iron/ironing board in room! Hair drier and safe in room. Can adjust room temperature yourself. Good room service - nice food and not too pricey. Pleasant dining room and lounge areas. We enjoyed our stay (self and elderly mother). Adjusted our booking to take account of our altered needs. Postponed a booking that they were within their right to cancel so that we would not lose our money - excellent service!.
all reviews » We stayed two nights for a family funeral and hills a buffet reception for family and friends. The food was good. We dined in the hotel restaurant both nights and were very impressed. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern and very spacious. It made it a little easier to cope with such a sad occasion. This is the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed at this hotel. Good deal in a king size luxury room with breakfast.All the amenities as one would expect especially the pool and gym.Everything clean, tidy and welcoming, even to the hot cookie at reception. A gem of a hotel - the best 4* that I can recall. It has it all. Comfort, quiet, pool, food (though wine-list a bit skimpy), prompt and courteous service, laid out in lush pastures but only a 15-20 minute cab-ride (9-10 quid) to downtown. The reception on arrival was outstanding! Never have we had such excellent room service, the food was served piping hot which was perfect for us, We stay in many hotels and this is now in our top 3. Excellent hotel one of the best I have ever stayed in! Staff are the the best!! They are the most friendly people ever! Do no miss this hotel highly recommended! One word to discribe it THE BEST!. No vending machine offering snacks (chocolate, crisps, soft drinks etc) had to drive out of the hotel to purchase some midnight snacks. Communal Door/wall between us and neighbouring room not insulated, at 7am we could clearly hear the next rooms entire conversation, they may as well have been in the room with us!!!. No nutella or soya milk out at breakfast. Gym facility opening times at weekends were quite restricted. An hour earlier and later would be more suitable for guests who have daytime plans but require using the gym. Bar prices were pretty extortionate!. No foreign TV channels. No internet connection in the rooms. Why do hotels with rooms for two only have one armchair? One of us had to use the dressing table chair or else sit on the bed. No wi fi in the rooms. The duvet wasn't big enough for the bed. Had difficulty flushing the toilet as the push button is located in the wall upright and could not get the purchase to press it . Took a few tries to succeed. Would appreciate more tubs of milk for complimentary tea/coffee. Thought the bar was quite expensive. N/A. If I'm being picky, I'd have preferred a full-size shower rather than the over-bath one we got. Not very well organised breakfast arrangements. 1st morning had to wait 10mins before table available.2nd morn had to wait for fruit, yogs etc to be restocked. The rooms were quite small The windows were draughty - but the thick curtains blocked the cold air We ate in the bar and my food was very expensive and overcooked - very disappointed. attitude of one pool attendant who was most unproffesional in conveying the pool closure times.Was insistant ( last Saturday ) that it MUST be vacated by 7.35pm so she could leave at 8pm.This was dispite the fact closure time read as 8pm.Somewhat spoiled a well earned break. N/a. Nothing. The communicating door in our room! Although locked it felt intrusive. not applicable. Bathroom incredibly hot all the time and it had a bit of a bad smell. Apart from that nothing to complaint about. Nothing. There was a musty smell in our bathroom. The breakfast whilest being good the hot drinks were served immediately so were luke warm when drank. We would prefer our drinks later. The bar is a bit clinical. Bed was not uncomfortable but less comfortable than would have expected. Nothing. It was quite far from the event i was attending but all hotels can't be smack in the middle of town. Room was dimly lit even with all the lamps on and bathroom fan was noisy and stayed on ages after switched off. Restaurant disappointing and not good value. No wifi in room is poor for a business hotel. Feather pillows, however, they were swapped for non-feather upon request. N/a. Not enough pilliows - the let the overall comfort of the rooms down. TV only tuned into a couple of channels and this was diappointing. No wifi,. Lack of WiFi in room. I did not like the prices for food, (ie) i ordered cheese in the bar area for £5-95 but they charged me £7-50 but because i did not notice it till next day they only offered me a drink to compensate me. The bar menu said £5-95 but the a-la-carte menu said £7-50. I would n ot have ordered three tiny pieces of cheese for that amount.
