The Spa Hotel is an elegant country mansion just a 10-minute walk from Tunbridge Wells Rail Station. It is set in 14 acres of gardens and parkland, and has a swimming pool and sauna. The Spa features 2 gymnasiums, a steam room and a flood-lit tennis court. A range of beauty treatments and therapies are also available for guests to enjoy. Many of the hotel’s rooms have views across the beautiful 14-acre grounds, and there is free Wi-Fi access. Each also has a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, facilities for making tea and coffee, and a hairdryer. Traditional cuisine is served in the Chandelier Restaurant. More informal dining can be enjoyed in Zagatos Bar, and there is an all-day Lounge & Orangery menu.The Spa also offers banqueting and conference facilities for up to 300 people.

Atmosphere, helpful staff, nice surroundings, easy parking. Didn't eat there dinner but dining room was very pleasant. Overall, very good. Our room was lovely and had recently been up graded. The staff were very helpful at all times and nothing was too much trouble.very friendly and helpful staff. the full english was made even better by the ketchup being served by a waiter!.

Nice room/view, clean and tidy, good bathroom, good breakfast. The Barman was very attentive on our first night there and the food was excellent. location. Not about the hotel. Our room was a bit too warm for us but a fan was provided. Also the bed was too firm, we like a soft bed. The restaurant lacked warmth. Although I'd requested a twin room, we were initailly given a double. May be the customer request should be given more prominence on the confirmation that is sent to the hotel. Also £14 for breakfast was a little expensive. Room was a little on the cramped side but otherwise very pleasant. There was nothing I did not like. Reception staff: one friendly non-native speaker had to ask two questions from another member of staff. She was terated with impatience - noticed by my daughetr and myself. Blanket on bed appeared grubby.I do not think it was particularly clear on the web site that the hotel is quite a walk from the town centre and down a hill. bit old for a young couple, but ok. evening meal at the restaurnat was lovely but the service was poor and it was extremely over priced.Inability to park easily. The bar (which has been turned into a cocktail bar) was very expensive and in view of location there is no alternative (pub across raod has been closed). Small basic room. Busy reception area. Food prices in restaurant were excessive. Continental or full English breakfast was offered; we had Continental but still had to pay the full English. Bathroom items did not include face flannels, shower cap etc -- one would expoect these in a 4 star hotel. Flower arrangement on reception desk completely dead; not a good first impression. The hotel seems to be in a state of transition, having been taken over in 2007, and has still a lot to learn. Unhelpful staff, particularly desk/reception staff both on check-in and departure. When we booked in there was some confusion over the amount of nights we were staying. Apparently this was due to the second night being billed at a different rate. Unfortunately it didn't end there as I had two calls from reception the next day asking what time I would be checking out although I was booked in for another night. They didn't open the bar on Saturday night. Not a 4* experience!. small noisy room, facilities not as good as advertised. four poster bed in room allocated(106) and the room was dark with too much furniture and felt cramped.

Each of the sixty nine bedrooms is attractively appointed, with all the facilities you might expect from a hotel of this stature. All rooms are en-suite and include colour satellite television, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, international direct dial telephone and radio, slippers, mineral water, trouser press and ironing boards. Wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel, using your laptop. Most have views over the grounds and we can offer four poster beds and executive suites in addition to standard single and double rooms. The rate includes full use of our extensive leisure facilities, which includes indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna, steam room and tennis courts.

Travelling information

From M25 London Orbital/A21 Southbound:
Leave M25 at Junction 5 and join A21 signposted for Sevenoaks and Hastings. Take the 4th exit for A26 Tunbridge Wells and Southborough. Follow A26 through Southborough and St Johns. At mini roundabout, take 2nd exit marked for through traffic. Drive past the Kent & Sussex hospital on right. Just after the parade of shops and restaurants, take right hand fork onto Mount Ephraim (A264). The hotel is located on the right hand side of the road about half a mile opposite the Major Yorke Pub and next door to Whitehouse Renault Garage.

Froma Brighton A207 or A27:
Leave Brighton on the A207 heading for Lewes following signs for A27. Then follow signs for A26 for Tunbridge Wells. Go straight over traffic lights at Crowborough (A26). Take the first exit at the mini roundabout at Sainsbury's and Homebase, then left at the roundabout by the Swan Hotel into Major Yorke Road. The Spa is situated at he top of this hill. Turn left then immediately right into the hotel drive, opposite the Major Yorke Pub.

From Eastbourne A2021 or A22:
Leave Eastbourne via the A2021 and head for A22 towards Uckfield. Join A26 at Horsted Place. Then follow directions above through Crowborough A26.

From Hastings A21: Follow A21, through Robertsbridge, Flimwell, Lamberhurst, then join A264 Pembury Road, signposted for Tunbridge Wells. Follow this road until you reach the traffic lights with the Royal Oak pub on your left. Turn right onto Calverley Road. At the mini roundabout take first exit into Crescent Road. Drive straight over the next two sets of traffic lights and then turn left at top of hill onto Mount Ephraim (A264). You will see The Spa on the right hand side next to Whitehouse Renault Garage.

From Haywards heath B2028 via Est Grinstead:
Follow B2028 to Turners Hill and join B2110, right turn. Follow this road into East Grinstead and join the one way system round town. Turn left onto the A264 for Tunbridge Wells. This road will take you through Hammerwood, Holtye, Blackham, Stone Cross. At the end of this road, turn left following signs for Tunbridge Wells. Drive through Langton Green and you will see The Spa Hotel on your left just after Whitehouse Renault Garage.
