Fantastic breakfast which was cooked to order as given a menu sheet to choose options the night before. Informative folder in the room full of useful information about the local area such as directions, things to do and restaurants etc. Well stocked tea tray in room and owners very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

A warm sincere greeting by the owners on arrival set the tone for our stay. Lovely room , well dressed and furnished.En-suite more than roomy enough and fit for purpose, which isn't always the case with guest houses we've used in the past. Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! Private parking at the back of the house (free), is a bonus. We both rate Ascot House as being as good

Although we booked a studio apartment we were surprised that there was a fair amount of space in the apartment itself. Plenty of crockery etc., and some tea bags, water and soft drinks which were a bonus. Ideal if you don't like the idea of having huge breakfasts at a B & B or hotel. We would definitely book these apartments again. Very central to the Town.

appartment we had (Shore) was up a couple of flights of stairs off an
inner courtyard. It was surprisingly spacious with a large hall, bedroom
and bathroom, a comfortable lounge and galley style kitchen. All

Perfect location for walking in the Dales, especially if you want to completely forget about wind/rain etc once you're done trekking. The Grainary is a working farm, with a B&B on the side, so if you like the atmosphere of a farm, off on the edge of the moors, you'll love it. Children are especially well catered for, as they have every imaginable farm animal in the fields near the house, plus dogs, rabbits, a ferret and certainly one or two I've missed. The owners of the hotel were first class in all departments. I would stay again without hesitation, as everything fit the bill for my requirements. The city was just a 15 minute walk, the location was quite and peaceful, the cooked breakfast was as good as I have had on my travels. Just a short walk from the city centre, this is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The garden is beautiful, with ruins and lovely flowers, and big enough for guests (and their guests) to sit in the sun without being on top of each other.
