Mark and Morag, the owners, are a very friendly and hospitable couple who make you most welcome. Morag is in charge of the cooking which is excellent and Mark is in charge of the bar and reservations. If you make a booking for bed and breakfast make sure you book for your evening meal as well as the few tables available get booked up quickly and there is know where else round and about to eat. Morag's breakfast are to die for with tasty locally sourced ingredients.

The location of The Ship is good, in a lovely village. We were able to park right outside the door. Staff were welcoming and the room was lrge, very comfortable, with everything we needed and nice extras like bottled water and biscuits. The breakfast choice was excellent and we also had an evening meal which was very nice, with generous portions.

Needed to stay in Gatehouse of Fleet for business and found the ship-inn was ideal for this. The room was very clean and comfortable with Wi-Fi which allowed me to work in room. The food was great and I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. All in all a great stayed which I would recommend to anyone.

The quality and size of the room was very good value. The service was excellent - I was even welcomed with a complimentary tea and cake.The breakfasts were very tasty and generous & the evening meal I had in my room was superb value. Great location overlooking the town square. The town itself is very pretty and definitely worth a visit. I would not hesitate to return and can thoroughly recommend it.
