We went to Port Wenn and left Port Isaac. For us it was the quintessential Cornish Port town - so much more than what is portrayed on the show. Big Australian Doc Martin fans. Village was quaint and to make it even more special, they were in the middle of filming the new series!!! The proximity from The Longcross Hotel to the harbour was perfect. The short drive gave you a real feel for the beautiful Cornwall countryside. Our room was very comfortable a - This is a quintessential 'little' Cornish Hotel, few have survived the ravages of recession and poor summers, but this is well run. It has a fabulous location close to Port Isaac, but away from the 'trippers' that you tend to get there. The staff are lovely and the management could not be more helpful. Walks from here are endless and varied, if you like the rugged Cornish coast this is a 'must'.
