What people say

Everything about it - Reception was warm and friendly - Bar service was tops and reasonably priced. Wine selection was good, attention to detail super, most of all the food was out of this world. Worthy of top chef awards. We thought all the staff paid attention to detail and worked hard to ensure you enjoyed your stay. Excellent - would go again.

Liked the room and meal deal. Although menu is limited, the food was good.Welcoming atmosphere. Central position but peaceful. Very comfortable.Very hospitable and friendly , and dinner in the evening well presented and freshly cooked.Hotel situation and general presentation as well as good comfortable rooms and beds.Warm and comfortable. A nice little bar. Huge double bed. Very friendly staff.Very good personal service from friendly and helpful staff.the staff were very attentive and helpful, the hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere, and the food excellent. I would recomend it to anyone.Friendly, welcoming staff. Nice rooms. Clean. Good breakfast. Excellent parking.decent size single room, location close to town centre and rutland water. Pleasant room, good dinner and friendly staff. It was very relaxing having driven 130 miles. Staff was very friendly...food was good. Friendly staff. This owner opporator hotel did not disappoint. The personal service was excellent and we would not hesitate to return for another stay provided that the value for money continued. The hotel was fairly quiet due to time of year however the staff were very freindly and made you feel welcome.Very friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable hotel and excellent location for Oakham.Very helpful staff, Good Location, Tasty breakfast. Everything was good. The food was delicious.Nearness to old town. Central location. Staff, Breakfast. The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable but the car park need better sign posts. The room stayed in was very quiet. It was a good size and very comfortable. The situation of the hotel was also very good.close to the town centre so able to view resturants for eating in the evening. Only slept the night so can't comment. Staff friendly and very helpful. Freindly and central to town.location. it was close to rutland water. Friendliness of the staff. Staff were very friendly. The tranquility. The hotel was nice and clean and the breakfast was lovely. The staffwere nice, polite and helpful.Attentive staff, adequate parking, good breakfast (although pricey if not included in BandB rate). Friendly staff and a good breakfast menu along with a good location for working or visiting in the east midlands. Close to a good network of roads in all directions. On the contrary, have already recommended to friends.Could have done with more variety of vegetables on the menu.Menu same every day but palatable enough.N/A. There were "real ale" pumps on display in the bar but were for display only - no real ale at all.I was expecting an old world atmosphere, but it was all very modern, except the bar.no sofa in room. Could do with a guest lounge. The only place to sit and relax when the bar isn't open is in reception.Decor was looking a little tired. Parking was a bit tight. evening meal, poor ,microwave ping from the kitchen was a clue. Bar only open in the evening. Needs redecorating. The price was sufficient to have included breakfast. The bathroom was very outdated, although clean. Also the bed was themost uncomfortable I have ever slept on.There seems to be a trend everywhere towards really soft beds and I don't know anyone who likes them - the Old Wisteria seems to be following that trend, however.Clean but looking 'tired' in the rooms and bathroom.Food poor - meat and fish very dry and scrambled eggs grey, dry and tastless. Query whether food was recooked and then microwaved.
