Since 2003 I have travelled extensively and have therfore stayed in many hotels. The staff at the Best Western were the friendliest and most helpful I have ever met. The receptionist who checked me in on Sat morning was polite, helpful and very professional. It made my stay all the more enjoyable. Many thanks to you all. since our last visit the hotel has been refurbished. The rooms are lovely with tea/coffee facilites and a modern bathroom. The hotel is a short walk into town (15 minutes).

Not really a problem, more of a niggle, as it was an old establishment could class it as a normal reflection of a property of this age!!. The bathroom needed to be updated really as the suite was a bit old fashioned and the steam shower didn't work. No fried eggs for breakfast.Unfortunately the night I stayed was just after a hot weather spell and the bedroom was unbearably hot. The only opening window was far too small to aid in cooling it down so spent a very uncomfortable night. Possibly a fan might have helped. Quality of breakfastis not to great. The staff at breakfast seemed disinterested and inefficient. It took35 minutes and three attempts to get a poached egg. It transpiredthat after one of these attempts, the egg had been given to adifferent guest. the restaurant seemed a bit unorganised - the hot fish starter had not been cooked through Still frozen in the middle but they did not charge me for it and took the time to explain and apologise. Only the location. It is a *long* walk to the city centre. We walked it.The buses don't give change and the city is almost as car-hostile asbrighton. But that's not the hotel's fault. the buffet style breakfast was cold, i feel they should invest in better equipment to keep the food hoy.Room was a little cramped noisy and hot!. dirty net curtains in room, didn't mind outdated bathroom and creaky floors, in fact they gave the place character, and everything was kept very clean, but oh... those grubby grey net curtains....No air con, had to open window which allowed traffic noise in. some of the staff could do with a course in customer relations. Breakfast was not a hot as we like.
