Everything was terrific. The staff could not have been more helpfull. The room was very good, we were upgraded to executive rooms. The food was very good. Hotel staff were friendly and very professional, Our room was very clean and very nice in general. Would, and will stay here again!. The hotel was extremely comfortable and quiet. all reviews » Everything was spot on with the hotel, the car park location could've been explained better.Norwich is a lovely city and the hotel itself had bags of character and freiendly staff. Very convenient town centre location, good rooms. Attention to detail, everything was 1st class. Great building, excellent, unobtrusive service, good food especially smoked haddock, a proper iron and board in the room, which was the largest I have found in a hotel for this price range. Bar and restaurant in hotle so there was no need to look elsewhere if you didn't want to - Everything in Norwich as within easy walking distance. Excellent position in the City and vast improvements made to the rooms. We had a suite and it was very nice one of the best hotels I've stayed in. I've paid alot more for hotels around the world and wish they were more like the Maids Head Hotel. the nearess of everything right in the center. Very peace, clean and great value for money. Pleasant room, near the centre of Norwich. The hotel receptionist was very welcoming and the hotel room was better than we expected.The new decor was very pleasing to the eye and the bed was very comfortable.We shall definitely choose the hotel again and have recommended it to our friends. Although we very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel it was marred by the food and service in the restaurant.It was a special anniversary and it was most disappointing.They didnt have the starter or the wine we ordered and waited 45 minutes for our main course to arrive.We felt the hotel was let down by this . We will certainly go again but would not use the restaurant.Price of food in hotel was expensive..did not eat there as so many interesting eating places so close by. The hotel has recently been renovated but the bathrooms are poorly designed, i.e. placement of toilet paper in relation to toilet, and there is no grab rail for the less able to use. I was unable to get out of the tub but had to have my husband assist me. He could not even get into the tub to take a shower as there was neither a grab rail nor a secure rubber mat. Also, we mislaid our bar of soap a. Sadly there was a disturbance in the hotel involving a small number of Guests (young ) between midnight -2.30am saturday. At no time did I hear a member of staff attempt to sort it out and no apology was given to me the following morning on checkout. Unable to sleep during disturbance . We had to ring the night bell several times before somebody let us in. The receptionist checking us in was obviously new and the poor girl could of done with some more training.Breakfast expensive so went to nearby cafe. The food and drinks were a bit expensive. Heating was too high in the rooms and not adjustable - although there was a window which opened , which helped. Great breakfast - though not included - worth paying for. We had some noise problems with the heating system - however, these were quickly resolved.the evening food was dreadful, breakfast buffet fine, breakfast to order burnt. Rooms were very hot no air con. The electrics seemed a bit dodgy. The extemely noisy air conditioning unit outside our room which meantthe window had to remain closed - good thing it wasn't hot!!. No, great location, comfortable etc. Not on this visit. Not really, a few minor things with room that go with age. Breakfast much too expensive.Breakfast at £12.95/person was far too expensive. Didn't have it at that price!!.

As part of our ongoing improvement programme, during January to the end of May 2008, the hotel will be completing another phase of bedroom refurbishment. This will result in 42 bedrooms being completely refurbishment up to the standard expected of a modern hotel. Also please note that from 14 January until the end of February 2008, the hotel lift will be out of service for an overhaul.
