NIcely equipped bedroom with an Incredibly comfortable bed and a really nice shower (a proper rain shower). The staff are helpful and friendly. The room service breakfast is very good, the "Montcalm breakfast" easily serves two and is then quite a good deal. It is in a very good location, less than 5 minutes walk from Marble Arch station but in a quiet area, and you can be walking in Hyde Park within 5 minutes of leaving the hotel. We had a nice quiet room with a view over a side street even th.
all reviews » Location was excellent. Valet carparking provided, which is good as the carpark is quite a walk away near speakers corner. If you have loads of bags then it will be troublesome. Luxury hotel. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room open from 7am-11pm for all guests free. Spa treatments at a cost. Very good attention to detail to the smaller things. Outstanding cleanliness. Incredibly polite staff. The decor was superb, which coupled with the above gives weight to the 5 star rating. The best that we like about Montcalm was the Reception Staff behaviour. Would like to thank and make a special mention of Duty Manager Tarun who was extremely nice to upgrade one of our room and allowed us late check- out thus making our stay comfortable. Sanitary showers in the Rooms toilets was a hygienic and extremely nice addition but were missing in the Lobby bathrooms. Hotels cars on nominal rates were available. I was totally amazed by the excellent service that the Montcalm provided during my stay for 8 days. Clean, comfortable room and facilities togother with very helpful staff, this is the best hotel that I have ever stayed. Location is another advantage as it is very close to Hyde park and Shopping area on oxford street. Very convenient to go everywhere by bus and tube. All Staff ( from the doorman to the front of house) made us feel welcome and important,unusual in such a large city hotel. They were extremely helpful and efficent in dealing with our concerns. We arrived in London after 7 weeks of travelling through out Europe and UK, and this was our best hotel experience. I enjoyed the friendly welcome to the Hotel and how the staff were helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was equipped with rain shower and was well designed. It was a walking distance to Marble Arch station and its close by to Oxford street. The overall hotel ambiance was great, I'll surely return back. It was wonderful from the moment we arrived. It was our 10th anniversary and we were upgraded to a suite with Champaigne. It was the little extras that matters such as small treats and small warm towel at Reception, the comfy slippers and magazines in the room. We would definitely go back!. The location is perfect near Oxford street and Edware road. The staff are friendly. The room is very clean. Internet is free every where in the hotel. There is water spray tool (shattaf) in the bath room. I got a room with electric curtain between the bath and the room which is very nice. Everything!!...from checked-in until checked-out, all staffs provided friendly and sincere services. Montcalm didn't mind to provide few extra complimentary mineral water and free printing for online ticket reservation & airline online check-in this is beyond my expectation,. The friendliest of staff who catered so very well for our individual needs right down to Prosecco with breakfast and a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The comfortable beds and huge bath and access to the club lounge with it's very helpful staff. My greeting and my check-out were both very friendly and efficient. I didn't have occasion to use any spa facilities, or the dining-room in the evening. Breakfast was good. The room was well lit and properly comfortable. I slept very soundly (and woke up on time!). the location was great very close to Marble Arch and Oxford street and main train stations especially Paddington. The Hotel was very personal with attentive staff. Guest service relations(via email) was excellent and ensured all my personal requirements were met. We stayed in Mayfair suite, it was beautiful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent service received from everyone. Restaurant and bar was lovely. Excellent location for shopping too, right off Oxford Street. Close to hop on hop off bus tours too!. Bath room was good especially the bath and sink area and also the size of the bedroom. The staff were very lenient with the check out time and gave me an extra two ours lay in without charge. The tv has a wide range of channels to choose from. Mostly the location of the hotel, also the hotel has been renewed. the room were very much clean and modren furneture. The website doesn't make it obvious that there is an indoor pool, sauna, etc, for all guests (as well as a spa with paid treatments), but there is. We found nothing at all to dislike about the hotel. The bedrooms are small for a 5 star hotel at 20sq ft. Not a fan of the glass window seperating the bedroom and bathroom. You have a blind that can come down to block the view but its on the side of the bedroom. Nothing stopping ur family, friends, other half etc to raise it and see u on the toilet or taking a shower. The fan in the bathroom didnt work so the hot water and the intensity of the light made it feel like a sauna. The House keeping staff were not helpful when asked to help as our key won't work most of the time. Cleaning of bathrooms was unsatisfactory. Rooms were extremely small size. Missing of sanitary showers in Reception Lobby's Washrooms. Nothing to dislike. There is no heater in the room. I have to wear cloths to warm myself. The breakfast is ok but you have to pay more when you want to eat hot food. The room is a little bit small. Almost none, I wish Montcalm has more choices of fish and more Asian food for breakfast not only Japanese, but it's okay... I found this as a hotel "near Covent Garden", which it really isn't (it's near Marble Arch). The extra exercise didn't do me, with only a small amount of luggage, any harm, but this isn't a fair description of the location (not necessarily the hotel's fault, I do concede). nothing really. Staff could of been more friendly and also the cleaners were very rude. Cleaners disturb me in the morning even tho my do not disturb sign was showing. The bar tender when asked to pour two double shots of grey goose with cranberry poured all four shots of grey goose in one glass with a little bit of cranberry which I think is illegal to do so. Small leak at the side of the shower. The hotel bar was nice but I didn't like the layout of the seating or the seats, the size of the bar (which was nice) compared to the size of the room was not right, just not designed right. Some of the room furniture is recommend to be maintained or replaced such as the room desk. Moreover, the window was little noisy. Our room was in the basement (no problem with that) but we could hear the pipes from a room(s) above us as the shower or water drained. too expensive. The room I was given is very small and seem crammed together. It equally take time before issues/request made are attended to. To be honest I find the staff attention to the point of being a little subservient and I feel it to be a bit overwhelming. Of that is much much better than the rudeness or indifference found in some hotels. The restaurant is fairly priced and waiters very nice but the very slow service became tedious.I miss the former restaurant and grill. They charge for the new movies on their TV channels .. It should be free for their price level. The breakfast was poor , need more Varieties. Free wifi is difficult to access at times. Price of full English Breakfast a little expansive. Double is a little small for two persons but cozy. I booked, an executive double that was supposed to be larger than the standard room. It was very small, enough room for the bed a small desk, small table and wardrobe/tea making area, no chest of draws due to the lack of space. Disappointing for the money spent. Replenishment of some small items (toiletries and shoe cleaner etc) could have occurred more regularly. My only criticism would be the design of the ill-fitting (over bath) shower door, which couldn't be positioned anywhere that wouldn't cause a leak (room 511). Lack of small meeting room(s). N/A. There were difficulties over having the shower cleaned and the sofa-bed set up - it required several requests and it was late at night when things were sorted out. Shower area not very well thought out seems like design over usefulness Hotel lacked buzz maybe a little to business like. However a good product for the money. quite pricey -- but i suppose it is a good location and it is in London. The bath plug did not stop the water leaving the bath. The toilet continued to run after flushing. Some basic maintenance is required. Breakfast was expensive for someone like me who only wants porridge and tea. I did not enquire as to whether I could get this for less than the AUS $30 or so listed as the cost of breakfast. Some guests were noisy in the corridors and the rooms are not that sound proof. Though the shower supposed to be luxury thing were you can have rain shower also side sprinkle, but it kind of hard to use. Also the entrance has only steps, where if you have a children baggy you have to left over, though the doorman was always there to help.
