The room was excellent with a very good breakfast each morning - my daughter who lives locally was able to join me for this - so gave use a relaxed atmosphere to plan our day around London together. The restaurant and pub were lively at the weekend - both with a good menu if you didn't want to venture out. Locale is very good so close to a train station but also some good shops, cafes and restaurants all within a stone's throw.

This is a well managed and high quality hotel which provides a good service. It is close to the station (just over the road), and there are several local facilities including coffee shop, hair dresser, general stores etc. John Treherne MBE. The rooms and bathrooms were large, clean and I would rate this hotel at the level of the best hots ever stated. The food was faboulous, the breakfasts the best ever. It had the friendliest staff I have ever met. Ann on reception a treasure as were all the reception and Restruant staff. Good value and will stay there again. Mary brown. The Alma is a very nice, small boutique hotel. Our twin bedroom was really excellent and the bathroom was huge.. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate, biscuits and a convenient fridge/minibar. Nice breakfast served in a lovely breakfast room. Great connection to Waterloo by local train just across the street from The Alma. I liked having the tea kettle and biscuits in the room. I loved the heated towel rack, the toiletries, the decor and the restaurant. The staff person upon check-in was very friendly and the people in the restaurant were also very nice. Breakfast was fabulous!. The hotel was tastefully decorated and the room was roomy and comfortable. It was a quiet and restful stay. It is a confortable and very clean hotel, with very nice and helpfull staff situated near the train station and not far away from the center of the town. I felt like being home. The room was resonably spacious for a London hotel, with an excellent shower. The breakfast was superb, with a good choice of tasty fresh produce served in a pleasant airy room. More sound-proofing between rooms - especially for those late nighters in their rooms and their slamming outer doors when they returned in the early hours or when leaving early in morning. Is their a slow release mechanism/device for the room doors to prevent this?. Nothing at all - we intend to return in the future. The style, design, cleanliness ness and sheets were changed daily as we're towels. Hard to believe it was open 2 years. The staff and manager great. The pub is also very friendly and a real buzz. Took bus into London 3o mins. This is not a complaint , merely an observation.. The restaurant is really busy at dinner time and the Alma Pub, an authentic British pub, is extremely busy and crowded with locals from early afternoon until closing time at 11 pm. Great if you do not mind the business of it. TV was set to include several channels that were not available... would it be possible to reprogram to only show what is available? Also, I was not able to print my boarding pass at the hotel, but that was fine, and not to be expected of a smaller establishment. The receptionist offered to print it for me, but I did not have my computer with me (there was free wifi though, which is great). May be nice to have a computer in the lobby that is accessible to guests but not necessary. Restaurant was a bit too noisey for our liking, but this is a vibrant pub and it was good to see people out enjoying themselves. Nothing to complain about!. The twin bed is a single, rather than a 3/4, and so a bit small, but still comfortable. The location was not on any major transport route and difficult to get to. No lifts. The noise coming from the bar ( some people got drunk and they became noisy) and the food at the restaurant. They served me rotten, old fish . They did took it way after I complained about it and they brought me another kind of fish, but I felt so sick at my stomach that I paid 14 pounds without really eating something. The prices at the restaurant are too high and the food doesn`t really worth the cash . Nothing. More time in London. Aeroplanes flying over us, no lift but the kind staff helped us with the luggage. The mattress was a bit lumpy,could feel the springs on my side of the bed. Nothing. Question not applicable. duvet a bit small for the size of the bed, no bathtub. room far too hot, would make a re-visit in summer unlikely. The wall hung toilet (style over substance!) not secure. Breakfast hot food meagre portions, 1x small piece of bacon 1x sausage. Air con broke down on second night, room very watm. A bath in the room would have been nice - shower only. Some staff seemed a little distracted at times so I didn't feel particularly welcomed especially at check in/check out. Air con did not work well and room was hot. Noisy dining room. Quite expensive for a weekend night. No parking. Breakfast was great - but you don't expect sliced supermarket bread from a £150 a night hotel... Receptionist when we checked out threatening to charge us £10 for each key card if we didn't return them! Other staff where good. No dairy free options for breakfast and no soy milk available (lactose-intolerance). Bar closed at midnight even to residents. No lift. I think I would have struggled to find the hotel without satnav and we had to park a little way from the hotel. Shower/bath difficult to get working properly.
