excellent staff, great food, lovely clean room. travelling alone, I felt completely safe here, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The staff were friendly and very helpful. the new decor has brought it up to date.Comfortable room, pleasant surroundings in bar area. all the staff where very helpful and curtious.Rooms are good size and clean.
all reviews » Overnite stay toallow us to relax after a party in irvine. quality of room, also quality of staff. The bed was extremely comfortable. The reception staff were very helpful and kind. Convenience of location. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. These were the only redeeming features. nothing i didnt like but as a family with teenagers it would have been better if the was some form of entertainment for them such as music and or computer games. I did feel that the road noise was a bit of a let down. shame to hear the lagoon is going but understand why.the room that we stayed in was too hot and the air conditioning didn't work and the window to the room was not able to be opened. Stay twice and had 2 very ordinary meals, both occasions the food wasn't what was described on the menu. Last visit ordered Pan fried cod with potatoes and pea puree, got over cooked fish sat on top of mash with whole and not very tasty peas mixed in. The fact that the mash was watery and the peas poor quality didn't help either.resteraunt very hot and stuffy , needed more light and possible air conditioning. The television was old and the picture poor.The staff (recepction). I personally found the Restaurant Staff not very friendly - which was so strange especially when I found the reception so nice. I stayed for three nights. Kettle did not work on first day, room was not made up on second day and on third day, chamber maid challenged me for complaining that she had not made up the room (although she admitted that she had forgotten to make up the room!!!). No changing rooms adjacent the pool area.Didnt know that refurbishment works were under way. The waitressess service was appoling I stay at hotels about twentytimes a year at leased and I have never had such poor service it wasterable. Rooms and recepion staff were excellent. I wont be stayingthere again !!. Poor service. The hotel was a building site/the restaurant and pool had a bad smell of paint and dirt/ On arrival,we weren't told to dial 805 to use the phone (even though the room information said dial 0), and when we walked the VERY long way to the desk to complain, they were unapologetic. The very heavy table was broken and dangerous/ when we ordered room service, the food was cold. etc etc. The hotel web site shows a lovely reception but when we arrived it isjust being built if I had know before hand that the hotel was underrefurbishment I would have looked for another hotel spoke to the hotelreception three time before I actually went nobody mentioned anythingabout work going on at the hotel.
