The friendliness of all the staff. I must make comment on theexcellent service that followed me stating that one of theflurouresent tubes in the bathroom was 'flashing' and was making mefeel unwell. Whilst I was breakfasting the matter was resolved - 30minutes at rthe outside. Well done. The hotel isvery central. Reception staff very friendly and helpful when checking in as we were a party of 3 couples.really enjoyed our stay and would stay in the hotel again and would also recommend.

We also found that restaurant menu was comprehensive and that the food was excellent and well presented. Very comfortable, lovely hotel with helpful staff and great restaurant/bar. Especially enjoyed the bright, naturally lit lobby with comfortable chairs - perfect for reading and sipping some wine.we have stayed on a number of occasions at this hotel and find the beds so comfortable.Breakfasts are great and no need for taxis as hotel is situated right in the centre of town. Friendly staff, comfortable clean room, food was of a very high standard. A great nights stay for a great price, Well done The Royal Highland.Food, Peacefulness, Central Location. Nice range of Malt Whisky. Tastefully furnished rooms. it was friendly clean and had a fantastic bar and restaurant on site,. I was told by other residents the evening meal at the hotel restaurant was very good value. Hotel is ok,but ,nothing to be complacent about.However,we would stay there again.We have stayed there many times,could return.comfortable room, excellent food. Unfortunately the breakfast was cold and the eggs did not look very appetising. Food in the restaurant was nice and the bonus of the voucher off for drink and the meal was very welcome and unexpected.Very limited on site car parking. Not all the wines listed on the wine list were available - we wanted an Australian red wine - the only available house red wines were French and the remaining red wines were at the expensive end of the advertised range.I like fresh air in my room but was unable to open my window more than a sliver, due to pigeons - and their 'mess' - on the window sill outside. thought the price of 1 nights stay was a bit over the top. Corridor areas should be redecorated and updated. Our room was very small otherwise for our 1 night stay everything was good. food went cold very quickly, toilet door needed oiling, toilet seat needed sorting,. Creaky floorboards outside the bedrooms!.

Ash is our new cafe/bar/restaurant that was opened in January 2004. It has a different ambiance to it than the hotel, but guests who prefer the traditional feel are welcome to continue to dine in our Gallery area of the hotel. Our menus use the finest of local produce prepared to order and are changed throughout the year to enable us to offer our diners quality food and superb prices. Booking recommended.

From Edinburgh - m9 then a9. From Glasgow there is a choice of routes. The most direct is A/M80 via Stirling, then M9 to Perth, and A9 to Inverness. Alternatively, you can indulge in the scenic delights of the A82 via Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe and past Fort William and Ben Nevis, then skirting the western side of Loch Ness virtually all of the way. From Aberdeen - A96 to Inverness from the South - M1/A1 to Edinburgh then as above, or M6/M74/M73 then A/M80 and onward as above.
