The evening meal and breakfast with consideration given to vegetarians. Location is excellent (once one realises that it is actually on the A361!), food was good and reasonably priced; as this was very much off-season I can accept that the draught bitter was not available due to lack of demand - the bottled alternative was very good.Convenience and location. friendly staff. all reviews »
Breakfast was excellent. Good value, freshly cooked and plenty on the plate. Pleasant area, friendly atmosphere. Friendliness of all members of staff and their willingness to ensure that all our needs were met. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and curteous. Food was good breakfast was really over priced. Food was very good. Not much. The surrounding area was brilliant. A few quirks - the foot of the bed was higher than the head end so we slept with our feet higher than our heads; the windows weer single glazed so there was quite a lot of road noise - I can imagine that in high season this would be a real problem. Parking across a busy road might be a problem for someone with restricted mobility. The welcome upon arrival was sadly lacking. A number of staff were in the bar area and a 'good afternoon' or a simple 'hello' would have been nice. We felt that we were intruding on their conversation and they all came across as amateurs. Boss man and his wife were very friendly. The room smelled fusty and was in need of refurbishment, although the bedding was clean. Our room could have been a little cleaner. Food very over priced, they displyed a 2 for 1 deal on meals, but just doubled the price of the meals!.
