Very helpful staff. Friendly staff, welcoming, beautifully refurbished, great coffee (it is renowned locally for the coffee apparenty) and nice food. It was a nice surrounding. It was good to have free WiI fi everywhere in the hotel.i liked the complimetary glass of wine for not having the room i booked or an exceptable option and the confusion about my booking in the first place,apart from that, the next glass that i bought. I was on the top floor of the hotel and the plumbing was, shall we say, excessively noisy! I accept that the building is quite old but I was woken up once or twice during the night as fellow guests visited their bathrooms!. guests resturant area ,is the coffee shop ,maybe they could use somewhere more hotel guest friendly. restaraunt really more of a cafe and no hot food after 8pm. the weather. Noisy road, but nothing compare to the noise coming from the central heating. Mattress uncomfortable, very small room and need of redecoration. I even think that they put us in rooms that they never use.the room i finally accepted smelt of a nasty spray, the furniture in all 3 rooms we saw was poor and depressing, the second room had a blocked off window. dinner was poor, was there a was a porter all night? I told i was not aloud in the main part of the hotel before 7.30?.
