Everything, the staff, surroundings, room, cleanliness, it was a magicalevening - I cant wait to stay again - it was all pretty unbeatable! Iwould most definately recommend the hotel. a first class hotel - breakfast is included in price which the website says opposite too !! so better value !!!!. The hotel, really made our stay very welcomeing and relaxing and look forward in returning there soon.

Position was ideal. The rooms were really comfortable albeit a little small. We stayed in a Junior Double so perhaps the other rooms are bigger. The service in the lounge area and cocktail bar were good. The breakfast was included in our room rate so was great value not so good if you have to pay £15 per person. Would highly recommend especially for business travellers. Fantastic new hotel, quiet and tasteful room, comfortable bed, clean, close to city centre, excellent breakfast, friendly staff.The hotel is very nice, clean, quiet, one of the best spots of Derby. The decor. Nothing. yes the bed being on wheels and moving everytime we did, it could have caused some kind of nasty accident,. The only downside was lack of parking. There is a private car park 100 metres away, but this is pretty expensive. Information at the time of booking had suggested on-site parking so this was unexpected. I prefer hotels with their own car park, but the car park was very close by.No computer access. Rooms were very poorly lit. Very hard to read in bed by the tiny bedside lamps. No outlets in the bathroom. Impossible to see the thermostat which was at thigh level, much less adjust it. No clocks in the room. The bed was on castors, during the night it moved away from the wall and the pillows fell on to the floor. The staff at breakfast should have been a lot more attentive. Two of us were seated at a table with three places, one of the places should have been taken away to give more space. We had to ask for extra tea, toast sugar to spread on the cereal etc. The poor service would put us off. The food in the restuarant is over priced for the standard and has not quite reached the levels they are obviously aiming for. the room service took forever and wasn't great quality for 2 sandwiches. My room was very small, with only terrestrial TV, and there is wi-fi only in public areas - cabled internet access in the room is OK but not that convenient, and a bit surprising in a newly refurbished hotel. Also, when they call you a taxi they use an extremely smart car service and not a normal yellow taxi, which is much more expensive - and they don't give you the choice. The bedorrm doors slammed hard therefore nosiy. Problems with the A/C in my room. Problem with the visa payment. It was unfortunate that the restaurant was so quiet as this meant there was no atmosphere in the huge dining room. Although my room was a double it was very small and I wouldn't like to try and get 2 people in there at one time. Next time I will book a larger double.Small room. Though I could have been o0ffered a better room considering the hotel was not full. The room was very small. Tea arriving to the room without milk or sugar. Finally when arriving the tea was gone cold. Sloppy service with regard to this matter. I would not have expected this from a hotel of your calibre. When reported to receptionist on check out it was if nothing had happened, in any other hotel this would have been written off the bill.The air conditioning in the room was not working and it was sweltering. I did mention this to the front desk and I was offered only sympathy. I would recommend if this was sorted out. Also the room was quite small but it was an old hotel that had been refurbished so quite difficult to see how they could have made the rooms bigger. I had to request 3 times to have my room serviced. This was done very poorly... just the bed changed and clean towels. Bins not emptied, no toiletries provided or clean wine glasses.The service was very poor and the staff really didn't know what theywere doing although everyone was pleasant. The ineptitude became quite ajoke. The room was minute and I was upgraded so I would be surprized ifyou could even get your case into a single room. Staff rude and untrained, food poor and slow (1 hour waiting for breakfast), suites too small with no wardrobe space, lost booking, overcharged, you name it!.
