The lounge bar is open until late and the bar has an LCD TV and access to the garden.

Warm Welcome, Free Tea and Biscuits whilst I awaited for my room to beready. Helpfullness of reception staff on how to travel on PublicTransport (Buses) from Hove to Brighton. The staff were very helpfull and polite. The hotel has retained many original period features and it is situated in a nice clean part of town.No hassle checking in, rooms were very nice for the price and verypleasant staff made you feel welcome.

On the Saturday Morning, we found the breakfast room member of staff totally disinterested. She appeared more interested in flirting with a group of young male guests, who had to point out that we wished to be served, and sending texts on her mobile. Much better on the Sunday when more mature staff on duty, could not fault that at all.2nd time i have stayed here, was all good except being placed above the function room, was loud,.. wouldnt have been a problem but was only staying there for one night... Not quite warm enough NOT ENOUGH MILK SACHETS WITH THE KETTLE!!!! (IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A BISCUIT AS WELL). Was looking a bit old and tired. Parking was expensive but this is the fault of Brighton council.The decor was getting tired. Also the room could have had a few more pillows available. Desk staff was a little surprised that I insisted on seeing the room before allowing them to charge the full cost to my credit card on arrival.poor reception on the tv. The hotel inside did not have a no smoking rule and the passagesmelt of smoke. Bathroom and wash basin very small, difficult to use bathroom with the door shut due to the positioning of the very small sink. was a bit further to walk to brighton pier than stated in information, makes a difference when rainy cold day. would be fine in good weather. Parking. The breakfast was very bad (poor ingredients, poorly prepared).Furthermore, the sound of the tv was dropping out all the time. Thehotel staff said there was nothing they could do about it. But Iwondered what's the point in having tv without proper sound???. Our bathroom was not great, we had some nasty black areas. Would have liked to have been told that they were repainting and scaffolding was being erected the day we arrived, having a workman outside your 2nd floor window was a little disconcerting and very noisy!. disappointing breakfast. The room, while spacious, was very cold and the en suite shower/ bathroom was very small.breakfast very fat, kitchen/serving staff harried and hurried, breakfast until 9am only. Thin walls. I was woken up by the other guests.The decor needs updating and the windows need to be able to open to allow fresh air in. decor a bit tired. The decor was not up to the standard that I would look for in a hotel of this price, (There was a large burn on the carpet and the wallpapaer and woodwork was very tatty, I have stayed in travel lodges that are cleaner. I would not recommend this hotel until it has been thoroughrly redecorated and totally upgraded. The hotel was generally run down in its appearance, the services were shortcoming. The decor was extreemly dated, and shabby.shower was difficult to fix and the strip light over the mirror in the bathroom failed --------- no razor point. needs a refurb, a bit dated and rooms a bit shabby.
