What people say

It has just been refurbished and the accomodation was excellent. We were there for a wedding and the staff were excellent and food was excellent and different from the standard. We had a fantastic stay, the food was service was 1st class, the room was 1st class, the staff were 1st class, it was more like staying on a cruise liner than a hotel,.
all reviews Very convenient for Stansted Airport and Central London. Beautiful room, very helpful staff and amazing value. Would highly recommend this hotel. The service and staff were excellent, along with the food. Highly recommended.the rooms were brand new which was lovely and teh resturant was beautiful. The grounds of the hotel was absolutely stunning. I had a superior double in the "stables" and loved it! There was a wet room, plasma screen TV, large bed and my room was massive! I absolutely enjoyed my stay even though it was for one night. Would definitely go again. Also has a reputation for Anton's restaurant. Brilliant. The location was beautiful, the room was lovely, the bathroom was luxurious, the staff were friendly and noted our comments on departure. Would definitely stay there again.the hotel is set in a beautiful part of Hertfordshire, service, friendliness and how welcome we were made to feel gave it a first class service from start to finish. friendliness and helpfullness of all staff we encountered. The space in the bedroom and decor.Food in the restaurant was excellent. The room was very comfortable and stylish.Great Location, Lovely Big Room, Fantastic Wet Room and an amazing restaurant!. I think I have never slept on a better bed. very helpful staff. I loved the design of the room. the room was really big. very good internet connection. it was definitely worth the GBP 70 I paid.Friendly service. Very good food and wine. Staff and food and decor. The hotel staff was very helpfull and kind to us. The room was luxery for the price of 75 we payed. Good hotel and a nice few outside.Lovely room, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant, nice room.No transfer to Stansted airport - cost of taxi around £10. The hotel is currently being reburbished therefore there are work men around and heavy machinery. Not as quiet as you may like either due to this but due to the price we paid we were happy enough as the rooms were lovely and we were just sating for a wedding that evening away from the hotel . If I had paid full price as per their tarrif I think I would have been a little upset though!. Well the hotel is closeby to Stansted airport and the planes came right overhead. Some even sounded like if they would crash into the hotel. However that did not bother me at all. Breakfast in room could have been better. All in all love this hotel.Unfortunately under Stanstead flight path but we knew that. Air con not yet working in newly developed room so room was hot and opening door meant airplane noise was pretty loud, but these things would not prevent us staying there again. Few little improvements needed - no where to hang wet towels but they know this and will change. The 'great' far outweighed the 'development needs'.However my parents room was too hot and they had a problem dealing with the thermostat. An instruction manual for the heating would be nice as room very warm.It was not obvious how to use their fancy shower. It was a walk-in shower, and it quickly overflowed. The door in the reception had a ring not a handle, so I had no idea it can be turned to get in, so I ended up standing behind open doors twice. I was expecting a shuttle, but I was told the most convenient thing is to get a taxi. that was GBP 10.50 each way. you hear all the airplanes. aircraft noise from stansted, hotel was unfinished, prices were on the stiff side.I asked for a quiet room and was not then told hotel was on flight path. less food for a big price in the restaurant.Floor was not very clean. Unfortunately no food available before 7pm.
