We loved the comfortable bed and beautiful room decor. We greatly enjoyed the quiet surroundings. The staff was warm and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful and posted a walking stick to us that we left at the hotel when we left.The food and service was exellent. Situated in a lovey interesting village. We were given a complimentary up grade and the room was gorgeous with plenty of old world charm. All the staff were friendly and efficient.

Mypartially disabled wife found access to reception and restuarant extremely difficult and on this basis would not revisit.Would have liked a ground floor room but probably own fault for not mentioning. There was refurbishment taking place which we were not aware of which was disruptive to having a comfortable drink inside the hote etc,. breakfast room too small ; poor english of some staff. the bar prices!. No everything was fine. Inflexible arrangements re: accomodation bedding ie: we had to move rooms 3 times due to need for an extra bed on one of the nights!. ..... reduction of our bill, but were disappointed as the rest. had been promoted as a main feature of the crown. Not very welcoming staff. Choice of food for dinner a little limited. The service charge; I prefer to decide if and how much I tip.very noisey at nighttime!. The room was too hot in the night. The hotel wasa a little noisy. The room was small and the carpet grubby. A bit pricey! We are about to stay in central London at similar quality for less. The hotel was being gutted and most of the building was off-limits which ruined the visit. Our room had been re-decorated in a modern, economy business-chique style, totally unsuitable for an old-English hotel. low staffing level (and therefore lukewarm reception?) at breakfast. Air conditioning did not work and there was building work going on that I wasn't told about at the time of booking. Renovations, no front door to use etc.The hotel staff were not at all welcoming. The reception area had been moved into the main restaurant and bar area. The room was very cold, cobwebs all over the place. No hot water for a shower and the bath taps were very wobbly. The mixer tap only gave out freezing cold water or water so hot that you would scold yourself if you put it on your head. The room description did not match the Quality implied.

Turn right at the mini roundabout into Whielden Street where you will see The Nags Head public house on your right. Please turn right next door to the pub to enter the car park.

From the M40
exit at junction 2 - follow signs for Beaconsfield and then Amersham A355. Proceed down Gore Hill, Tesco superstore in front of you, turn left at first mini roundabout into Whielden Street. On the right hand you will see The Nags Head public house- turn right to enter the car park.
