Kings Arms Hotel ![](/pics/stars/4star.gif)
30 High Street (Amersham) HP7 0DJ
This hotel dates from the Tudor period, but the inside reflects the very best in modern design. It is featured in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, as well as the TV show Midsomer Murders.
With hundreds of years of history (Oliver Cromwell once stayed here), The Kings Arms Hotel is ideal for a romantic getaway.
A relaxed lounge bar features a log fire, while the original part of the building has executive rooms with large desks, broadband access and flat-screen TV.
The Kings Arms is in the heart of Old Amersham, known for its exclusive boutiques and antiques shops. Food and drink is served in the Kings Bar & Bistro, which is located in the same building as the hotel. There is a local golf course, while Ascot and Windsor racecourses are within easy reach.
Amersham is on the London Underground network, 50 minutes from Wembley Stadium and just over an hour from central London (Bank stop). The Kings Arms Hotel is 10 minutes’ drive from the M40 and M25.

What people say
Extremely friendly staff who were a credit to the company and a wonderful hotel in general, there was nothing we could fault!. A superb hotel in every respect that was an absolute delight to stay in.The staff were both charming and helpful, really positive break away!. Fantastic location and characterful hotel.Generous sized room, very clean and comfortable. Freshly cooked, hot english breakfast served at your table which is much nicer than the buffet style breakfasts which are usually on offer and invariably cold!. all reviews »
The rooms were beautiful - very English with low ceiling and exposed beams. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a lovely, cosy hotel to spend a weekend.staff very friendly and efficient, the room was well appointed and very comfortable. my wife and i both enjoyed our stay. The warm and friendly welcome.Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely. very nice room refurbished to a high standard but still inkeeping with a coaching inn. Rooms were clean and well equipped and the bed and bedding was very comfortable.Very nice staff. Old rooms beautiful and thoughtfully modernised. Staff very friendly and professional .Cleanliness.Very relaxing and beautiful characterful hotel. Easy access to room. Excellent car parking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking was excellent and alwaysavailable. Full English breakfast offerings were very good. Room was agood size as was the bathroom. Plenty of nice big towels to use. Veryclean at all times. It was convenient to the local Tesco and for gettingon the highway. Lovely old building sympathetically renovated and extended, withtastefully decorated room. Large car parking area - very easy access.Unusually good generally for a British hotel!. Recently refurbished contemporary style in old style building. Proximity to village. Good sized room. Very friendly and obliging staff. visit friends. Lovely hotel with tradional ambiance but modern facilities.Very nice rooms and very helpful staff and excellent breakfast. The room was lovely, hotel easy to find and easy parking facilities. Friendly and efficient staff and good location in centre of Amersham, a lovely old town which is full of good pubs and beautiful buildings - and close to lovely walks in the Chilterns!. The peace and quiet in the rooms. Comfortable and quiet. good breakfast. Good location, comfortable room. Peaceful room. The Hotel and staff itself was extremly nice and well run, with above avarage rooms for the price. Very quiet , clean and central.Rooms were well decorated and clean. The staff were accommodating in moving the check in time earlier for us. The room (in the old part of the building) was very comfortable. Comfort, particularly bed and quiet. Room size. The bed was very comfortable. The room was in the old part of the hotel and had a lot of character. location very easy for transport to london. very pretty old town. Olde World Charm. they were not aware of booking. Just a minor complaint that the breakfast juices weren't fresh. While breakfast on Sunday was great, when we arrived for breakfast on Monday morning there was no milk left (for coffee or cereal). Breakfast could start earlier - 6.30am. the room was a bit hot, window did not open very wide. no restaurant. We did expect the hotel to be able to serve more than just breakfast. It was a shame that we could not have a light meal at the bar in the evening. We stayed in the old part of the hotel which was beautiful but smelt very musty. It was very hot and as I was staying in the new part of the hotel, airconditioning units should be installed. The small windows allow forlittle fresh air to circulate in the room. With my room at the end ofthe hall, I opened my door (on a chain link) to allow for some crossventilation. A fan in the room would have been nice. Choice of tvstations was terrible! I think it was very expensive. Sound carried from other rooms. Staff smoking in group outside. Modest breakfast portions.Security around keeping of credit card details is a little suspect. no restaurant and adjoining pub had no atmoshere. The room was a little cold on arrival, and the original windows didn't keep much noise out. However, our room was overlooking the main road. Lack of restaurant for dinner. It would of been nice to have lunch or an evening meal in the hotel instead of having to go down the road. No bottled water in our room. Towels very thin. No room service or food available in the evening. The bar however was another matter, the beer was off, some of the bar staff rude, and very quiet, not what we would call a location to enjoy an evening.Old Amersham is an extremely attractive village, although we found it a little strange, it was like walking around lego land, and not the friendliest places we have ever been to. The room was incredibly hot. Despite having the windows open full, there is no air flow in the room. Install a fan!. It would have been nice if the room had a fridge. Cleaning could have been a bit more thorough. No restaurant for evening meal. The tea and coffee in the room, did not represent the standard of the room. Breakfast could have been between 7 and 10.no bar of soap in bathroom. and no tea or coffee making facilities. Restaurant not available for evening meal.
