Incredible place under railway bridge which looks like a film set from a movie shot according to some Jules Verne book. It feels so very Victorian and British like no other place we have been to in Scotland. The pub has above average cook (at least for Scottish standards) and is meeting place for the local community which was another great experie

Apart from the breathtaking view from the hotel window , the whole place has a welcoming feel , with attentive staff making it a lovely stay . The bar area was lively and the meals were good value for money . The rooms have been refurbished and the bathroom fittings are all brand new and modern. The location is ideal as it is 5 mins walk , albeit up a steep brae , to the railway station with frequent trains into the capital . If you liked the film Local Hero then you will love this hotel !

The price was nice and the sleep was good: these are main criteria for a good stay. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

the staff were very helpful. they gave us a very big room and it was on the first floor which was very helpful considering i'm pregnant and had two young children with me.there is a bar in the hotel which allowes children in it so if you fancy a drink you can relax with your children. The hotel is friendly, clean and excellent value for money. It is situated a short walk from town, has some very good restaurants and pubs nearby and is a ten minute walk from an IMAX. The room was spectacular! Great services within the room, eg. Ironing board, hairdryer, bath, flat screen tv. Plus 24 hour reception and friendly staff! Great location only a 10/15 min walk to the city centre and Edinburgh station, while haymarket station is 5 mins away! Great bars, restaurants and cafes a few mins away! This is a magnifcent place to stay, clean friendly spacious, comfy bed, huge bath, ( that ran out of hot water) however is in a great location 5 mins drive from the centre, quiet relaxing and all round a fantastic place to stay and would highly recommend it

We (my husband and I) stayed in BB 3 nights. It was a very good experience. People here is very friendly and willing to help for anything. Our room is designed so amazing as Scotland style. It's also excellent with the price you pay. We strongly recommend visitors staying this beautiful and good -serviced BB.
