I like the feeling of beeing in a private house where everything is cared for by the owner or caretaker in a personal way. As a single traveler it's an advantage to stay in a Konak. The owners were very gracious hosts. The food they prepared was the most memorable meal I had the entire trip! Jale's cooking was incredible! The hummus that she made was the best! I can't stop raving about the food!

Aslan, the owner, was courteous and generous in greeting us. He gave us
a choice of the top floor rooms and offered to send one of his
assistants to help transfer our luggage from the previous hotel. With
his knowledge of the region and, given existing winter road conditions,
we took one of tours offered by the guesthouse and conducted by Aslan
himself. With some of the travel warnings for the south-east Turkey, his
presence made us feel secure. We had considered going alone but are
